I fear you may have just got a crap MINI dealer.
We have the 2013 MINI Countryman Cooper SD and have done since march and cannot fault the service of the dealer. The build quality of the car is second to none and as for the rest of the engineering… Perfect. Built on austria and from order to delivery and beyond the service has been fantastic.
As with all mass produced items there are always going to be flaws and issues but the dealer should sort it with no problems at all.
Book it on with them and take it down for their opinion and then if that dont work get a second independant opinion from another garage or preferably a body shop.
Then if they still dont fix or replace get onto BMW directly. They will sort it out.
Remember dealers are exactly that and if they perform badly then BMW do listen and they can have a delership taken away at any point. Its not just simply a money thing.

Such an unfortunate name for an airfield.
Prangins…..
Was this a legitimate attempt at humour like I guess naming your house Dunroamin or is this its real name?
Steve,
Is it that silly?
I do understand what you are saying. Yes of course you need a complete aircraft BUT unless you have all the relevant papers signed off by the CAA or who ever it happens to be you could still have as many aircraft as you wanted complete and ready to fly and ready to be airworthy but it still wouldnt allow them to fly LEGALLY therefore Airworthy.
What I wrote above was assuming we already had a complete aircraft.
Thanks Alan much appreciated.
Seems to make a bit more sense now. Funny how information on the internet gets confused.
I think the problem you’re up against is that an “airworthy Spitfire” list is always difficult. Where do you draw the line as to an aircraft being non-airworthy? A week away from flying? A month? A year?
The difference between Airworthy and Non Airworthy is simply paperwork. If you dont have the paperwork to fly then there is no Airworthy at all.
That is the difference.
I do understand what you mean though but unless the paper is kept up to date no amount of money or maintainence is going to make an aircraft Airworthy.
No, the (A) means (Aviation) as in Fleet Air Arm. It is only in the RAF where (A) is taken as Acting.
Thanks again Alan,
Every days a school day. Always learning.
Thanks for that Alan and AT,
I remembered the name but not why. Yes Norwood is the correct for the Hellcat,
Steele is given as Sub Lieutenant (A) where the A means acting so I guess TEMP or ACTING is the same thing. How it is in the title is how it is in the CWGC so thats what I am going with unless I find it is totally wrong.
Thanks again.
Well said moggy
Paul,
I like the sound of that idea.
Just a little update on this aircraft and pilot.
Today (Thursday 25th of July) the remains of Malcolm Eric Edward Robertson were taken to Craigton Cemetery in Glasgow for reinterment.
There were around 20 people in attendence with family representatives, RNZAF, Police, CWGC, 3 legion standard bearers and at least 5 of our own group.
Malcolm was well represented and got a good second send off.
I feel quite proud if that is the right word of our group. And it has been a privilege to meet and talk to some of the people we have met in the last couple of years.
Thank you to all of the people that have been involved over the last few years and to those of you here who have helped too.
Farewell Malcolm we will remember you.
you sure? the frame is just over 1 foot long, too big to be a headlight?
Have you ever seen the size of some of the old Jaguar and Bristol headlights?
Google it and see the size of the lights. Like dinner plates some of them.
It is not that strange that there are no guns on board. It all depends on the circumstances of the ditching.
If I was going down into the drink I would be trying to gain as much glide time or altitude for as long as I could.
The first thing to go would be excess guns and ammo and then anything else that wasnt tied down.
So if you think about it not really all that strange after all.
Then again its been at the bottom of the ocean 70 years. Enough time for divers to remove or boats and fishing to drag them out.
Not really much of a mystery is it?
I’m very interested in your fuel pressure warning lamp.
Hi there,
I do not have this to hand at the moment as I am moving flats in about a month. But as soon as I place my hands on it I will poet a photo here of it from every angle. I will also have a look at it for markings.
I will send you a pm to give you a heads up about the post here when I do.
Meanwhile I am sure some of the chaps here might be able to help.
I heard from an apss member recently and he said it was coming together very nicely. Some problems with minor issue between apss and the museum but this has long been the case. The museum have asked them if they will bring her out and rig her up in public again like they did before. And from memory the engine chosen is modern and non aerobat. Apparently they did have a choice. Dont know if I should be telling you all this but I wasnt told it was secret. And it was dicussed in a public place.
Cant wait to see this one fly.
On other points the bollingbroke is now being painted in its yellow and black training scheme. And the member I talked to said he would not be working on the beaufighter. Asked how long he reckoned it would be before it resembled an aircraft again he said 40 years.
Come on national museums of scotland get your finger out and spend some of that money that concorde has earned you on the museum its housed in.
I know they refurbished a few buildings a couple of years back and there are more plans which arent my place to discuss but I think the money made in east fortune should stay with east fortune. It should not be used for other nms museums as they dont earn money in the normal way because they are free entry. Why should east fortune as a specialist museum and thats why we pay an entrance fee not benefit from most of the money it earns.
Come on nms get the beaufighter built before I am dead.
