If you read all the links,it does say it will be based at Liverpool, and re-registered N747PG(reserved). For the show circuit.
Also there’s some wonderful extra reading if you go to the home page of Richb’s first link, and choose some of those displayed links!
It seems strange that Bae are leaning toward the US,when they’re saying that technology transfer is being delayed on current projects.
Obviously they feel the potential to be much greater than the tie with EADS/Airbus.
I met 2 of the guys that built it last month. They are currently about to start building a Handley Page HP42!!!!!!!! Probably my favourite commercial aircraft of all time and one I’d dearly like to have a flight in.
They are American, are they not? Is their HP42 project anything to do with this project,or is that TWO on the go?

This will probably get moved to the Historic section.
I assume Rod Eddington is now a British citizen then? I too didn’t think ‘foreigners’ could be knighted.
I did some searching, and found this, but don’t know how up to date it is.Some surprising stuff— a degree in nuclear physics!!!!!!!!
Rod Eddington, CEO, British Airways
Age: 51
Nationality: Australian
Career path: Nuclear physics degree from University of Western Australia / Oxford. Worked his way through the ranks at Cathay Pacific. Became Executive Chairman of Ansett in Melbourne. Head-hunted by Lord Marshall for current position at BA.
Core strategy: To increase high paying premium passengers on BA. Since joining the company in May 2000, Rod Eddington has sold low cost airline Go and introduced ‘flat beds’ as an in-flight perk.
Hobbies: Drives a BMW. Enjoys cricket (immensely), bridge and a good red wine. Speaks Chinese and Japanese.
Word is: Described by his contemporaries as being a laid-back, people-oriented Aussie.

and whether or not Dubya actually flies in to PIK or he sends a stooge ? 😀
You mean there’s a stooge MK.2 :diablo: ?!?!?
Absolutely love it! 😀
Sandy,
I hope I wasn’t a contributor to this departure. I didn’t really understand the Boeing bias, but valued your livery designs, and hope this leads to something interesting in the future for you. I must admit I came across a bit strong in my anti bias comments at times to you,and for that ,I apologise.

There’s an impression of one in full Flybe colours on their website, link here—

Looks cool to me!
So that’s where the term ‘Propellerhead’ comes from?!
So totally different,it just HAS to get the thumbs up! 😎 😎
I’m all in favour of F, or R depending on what will be announced at Paris.
Now let me see,you come from the Netherlands———-.
I keep hearing so much about the restart, for years,is it really going to happen?
Don’t get me wrong,I’d love to see it.Do you have any hot news? Do we have to wait for Paris?
But that does not mean forbidding serious discussions with constructive arguments.
regards,
Cliff
That’s just it! None of it IS constructive! It’s just one against the other, and goes on and on and on…………….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
This forum is turning into a permament A vs B argument.
I reach the point where I don’t read the forum for days. The basic question is : When will it stop? This is boring !!!!!!!
Well, that just begs the question, why start another thread on the very subject which bores you??????!!!!!!!!Am I the only one to think this is stupid?
I agree,VERY boring! Nobody can lay their hands on any proof,so why discuss it?
Is that the Comet that used to be at Scone, or am I getting my Scottish airfields mixed up?
You are probably remembering the Comet which flew into Strathallan, near Auchterarder, when the museum was there(grass field!).
The museum is long gone, and the Comet scrapped ,unfortunately.
There was actually a use BEFORE the opening, when a Lithuanian TU-204 used it for parking. Does this count? Sorry, can’t recall date!
