So where have they got this aircraft from and what type of 737 is it?

    737-400 leased from Travel Service.

That link obviously now goes to a different story about scooter stealing. Can you find the one referred to?

Yes,and no GPS! They are doing it the way of the period–sextant and compass!
Surely there will be a back up,in case the winds aren’t as forecast?

That Vimy has sure done some travelling since 1994!

So I make that about 5 max. They’re hardly tripping you up ,are they?
Do you really think you can buy a replacement cheaply?

OSH – If you go to your insurance company and tell them that they can buy you a replacement Messenger for say 50K or rebuild the wreck for 100K + I am sure the
    wreck won’t get rebuilt.

Well, yes, they’re ten a penny on eBay,aren’t they? Come on,there aren’t any replacement Messengers!

    To say nothing of TRAINERS!

I should imagine if you look at the commercial price to restore a Messenger to airworthy condition it’s likely to be beyond economical repair.

And how many,do you think, vintage aircraft are restored with commercial values in mind? I don’t think there will be a lot. Most are labours of love, and long may it continue!

The runway at PIK is about 10000ft I think.

Is the 4th one (the one below PIK) LPL?

Don’t think so. Liverpool has two distinct areas, the newer longer runway, and the old runway on a different separate area. I can’t see two separate areas here.

Looks like OSH was not being so pessismistic after all.

Pessimistic or not,I made the 900 mile trip! If I was pessimistic, what do you call the guys who live within 50 miles who were leaving the decision to the last minute? I don’t think it was me who was pessimistic! I was merely concerned about putting all that time and expense to waste. I was a little disappointed, but enthusiasm was not dampened, just me!

Supposed to ditching the 757 and going for a couple of 737’s plus the aformentioned L10-11’s.

Pretty sure the planned 737s are ADDITIONAL to the 757.
