    Thats superb Mark 12 !!! the first shot I’ve ever seen of a spit at Norton.
    Been thinking of going up to the old place and taking some pics

    Many thanks for the info on the Spits, anyone got any pictures of them there or any of Norton during the war?

    I knew about it been a barrige balloon base, I have one of the winders and cable in my garage from the base:)

    Just been reading through this thread, Anybody thought about may be moving her to Elvington, They already have a couple of ground runners, one of the black tailed former 11sqn lightnings, also the option for her been undercover if that was allowed?

    Dont mean to butt in on the thread, I was talking to one of the aircrew of the PR9’s at Waddington 2006 and he said that there wouldnt be a problem keeping then flying in civvie hands even though they had reached their pressure cycles for RAF use, the RAF limits on the aircrat for operational use were much tougther than on the civil register, is it not the nose section only that the pressure cycles run? I think the airframes them selves were still good
