cosy.
I actually think it’s pretty good!
Looks better on the 330 than the 320 IMO.

Turboprop down to Milan – Im surprised people dont refuse to fly on it!
In PPRUNE, a flybe member of cabin crew mentioned how many passengers see the props on the Q400 when it flys longer distances and wont fly.
Im sure that was before the Milan flights.
Maybe the Q400 has proved itself popular with the passengers.

yeah but it says that “four rotations cost the same as the Q200”, nothing about the plane having to be full to get the same PROFIT as the Q200.
It’s not difficult to believe as the Q400 is quite an advanced turboprop economically.

Luke,
Trouble is with an all Q400 fleet some of the lesser capacity routes will have to be cut and Exeter would probably be in that category.
But why, because like I said in my post earlier, they are more effeciant than the other dashes – quote from Airliner World March 2003 “It has the lowest seat cost in the market. Four rotations cost the same as the Q200 but there are 68% more seats.”
The Q300 probably costs more to run than the Q200 so even if the route is of a low desnsity, it will still be cheaper to run and they said a few months ago that they were considering changing the Jersey-Guernsey-Exeter-Dublin route to a Q400 for the summer anyway because it is getting popular.
The Exeter – Channel islands route still caries a bad reputation for many people around here because of the shorts which many people still think are used.

In an Airliner World article about Flybe., it said how the airline is planning to change to a fleet consisting of only 146’s and Q-400s.
This is because the Q-400 is so economical that it is much cheaper to run than even the smaller Dash 8s so there is no point in using the Q200s/300s on the quiet routes because the Q400 is still cheaper to run even if it is only half full. Plus it is faster and probably more pleasent than the other dashes.
I’m looking forward to seeing the new, slightly larger dashes in the new colour scheme at Exeter, and looking forward even more to flying on one!
wys -why exactly is pay less on a prop? Surely jets are more modernly designed so they should be eaiser to fly??
