Yes, you’re right.
Only 192 currently active worldwide out of a total production run of 200….. 😎
What ones are out of service/written off/crashed?
Main one I can think of is the China Airlines(?) crash at Hong Kong.
Other 7?
Next time please put the http in 😉 .
Upon passing 400/500 (I can never remember which one), climb power is automaticly selected, and either CLIMB, CLIMB1 or CLIMB2 becomes active. This usually causes the thrust to decline, and so the engine becomes derated.
I’m not sure about the sound, but maybe if the takeoff itself was derated, and it was a high speed climb out (high cost index), the change in thrust may not have been so significant. But the change in sound on this occasion of probably just caused by the microphone on the videographers camera.
I’m not a commercial pilot though, I don’t think we have any 777 pilots about, but i’m sure someone else will be able to help you.
Sam
Thanks for that Sam.
As stated in the original post I wasn’t sure if YT links were allowed or not so I left the http bit out.
Thanks for the replies.
Guess I should have been consentrating on the road rather than looking up into the blue lol.
That should be a good proportion of the NWA flights so.
Thanks Peter.
can a plane operate direct to Australia from UK without having to change a/c.
Only one I can think of is 772LR if it was in use by any of the usual Airlines on that route.
Would it be weight restricted though is the question for viability.
As for original question, you could also route through AMS/HGK then onto your destination.
Was planning recently to get down under, didn’t come to pass unfortunately, and had planned/priced a few and most straight forward, for me, from Cork was CRK/AMS/HGK/SYD.
I’d prefer to stay clear of LHR if at all possible after some bad times there a few years back.
Only time I’ll consider LHR again is when T5 opens, might get some bit easier to navigate around there then.
Personal opinions and experiences by me.
Outstanding shots.
Pulling a wheelie – competition for Valentino Rossi
You have to wonder how that tyre doesn’t explode with the weight being shifted onto it like that.
Similar in the A320 series, although they wouldn’t have nowhere as much weight on the nose gear as a fully loaded MD11!
Good Evening, Anything interesting? Not often ATR gets mentioned around here.
Regards
🙂
Ha ha nothing that interesting, just an AFCAD aircraft parking update for the Simwings scenery add-on.
Yes, before anyone mentions it this is FS related, but the parking and factory location question is also a real life request.
Aha thought it was at the other side of the airport myself.
Many thanks for your help.
Thought SIA flew direct from MAN to Changi or has this been stopped with a while?
Nice set there DJ, never saw the C-9 when i was up today.
TJC: i’m thinking that is a US Navy C-9, the Virgin is on a short season for the October week to Florida(i believe it positioned in empty from MAN) they are back at GLA next year with an increased program in the summer as well as Easter and the October week.
The 773 has been used since December 16 2005, not always a 773 sometimes a 772 and the odd A330 come in.
The service started on April 10 2004 using mostly A330 until the change in dec 2005.
Many thanks for the reply. Clerars up the few questions I had.
Related question though, how long does Emirates leave the A332 on services before uphrading to the 772/3/3ER?
Nice shots there.
3 quick questions;
1. Who/what is the D9/MD8x on the second shot?
2. Is the VS 744 training? Forgive me on this one, didn’t think VS had flights out of GLA:o
3. How long have Emirates been using the 773ER rather than the A332?
Follow up to #3, How long did the A332 last before the 773ER took over?
I was under the impression that both T1 & T2 were both going to be demolished to make way for Heathrow East! T2 will go first, then T1 will be demolished later for the second half of construction.
So was I until I read the article in the Sept/Oct issue of Airports of the World where they say thatit might not go ahead unless the row over the proposals to cap the fees.
The Airports economic regulator, the CAA, proposes to cap the amount BAA can earn on its investments at Heathrow by 6.2% before tax. It currently allows 7.75%. As a result, Rafel del Pino, Chairman of Ferrovial, the Spanish company which owns BAA, has raised doubts that Heathrow East might be built.
He told journalists: ” We have planning permission to transform Heathrow but the CAA has got to give us the incentive to do that”.
Sounds like a threat not to go ahead unless they can charge/earn more to the airlines or public using Heathrow.
Lovely shots.
Must have been hot in that SAS cockpit, the Captain’s window is still open!
Great shots.
Was that a 772LR flown by PIA? Looked like it from the shots.
Nice looking Logo prop by Wideroe too.
Very informative, espically this page http://www.boeing.com/commercial/777family/pf/pf_rc_singapore.html
Then begs the question, why dont SIA use the 773ER on direct routes to LAX and SFO instead of the 744 through Narita?
Are they taking so many passengers in Tokyo that the direct route isn’t worth it as yet?
They use the A345 on JFK routes, with limitations, as I read things, tech stops and capacity issues. Is it the same for the 773ER on west coast flights?
