Back in the 90s at Weston in Dublin almost every weekend an influx of jockeys would arrive from the UK for the Irish horse racing. Willie Carson would arrive in his Pa32 G-WILI quickly followed by Walter Swinburn in Cessna 303 G-PUSI. Always caused some raised eyebrows from other visitors.
There is one still in use with the Irish Parachute Club at Clonbullogue, County Offaly.
Back in the mid ’90s Starduster EI-CDQ was painted in a Guinness paint scheme. It was based in Abbeyshrule and was eventually sold to the UK.

All the glass cockpits I’ve flown (all civilian) have a vertical strip speed indicator along with a strip altimeter.
I’ve recently repainted some fabric covered wings to change the registration on them. I used lots of water, 600 grit wet and dry and lots of care. A very messy job but it turned out ok. The aircraft concerned was covered with S**** Polyfiber but I don’t know what fabric is used on the Hurricane.

My wife was out and about yesterday and discovered these four gems sitting in the yard of a haulage company in Portarlington, County Laois.
The wings and booms are also there but they’re hidden behind some trailers.

Mrs Currie Wot having some fun in the snow.
Many thanks for the replies.
I presume the loud speakers were easily removable and therefore the aircraft would still be available for flight training. The extra drag caused by them must have had a serious effect on the aircrafts performance. Here is the system fitted to G-AJRH.

The logbook entry for the mod. notes that the aircraft was test flown and that climb figures and stall speeds were noted but unfortunately they were not entered in the logbook.

The Beech is still in excellent condition. It’s been hangared and looked after but not flown. It would appear its logbooks are now missing. Maybe next year will see her back in the air with a new owner.
