Well, yes, they certainly are, which makes our friend’s reluctance to grasp us firmly, but not too firmly, by the hand, even more puzzling. But he’ll go for a peck on the cheek from a lady. What about a peck from a man!:D

If you are that frightened of infection I assume you either wear gloves all the time or never make physical contact with your hand on anything at all, since every surface is inhabited by millions of bacteria, many of which are potentially harmful.

Reference iPhones/iPods – anyone else here got an Android phone? As I am fully “Googled” it is a very handy, user-friendly bit of kit.

1. Inconsiderate driving – covers thoughtless and selfish driving.

2. Musak, everywhere, including background music to otherwise excellent TV documentaries and dramas.

3. People who cannot talk quietly on their mobiles.

5. The demise of good manners, generally. Or am I just getting old?
