Max Broussard? flying south west over Reading poss from White Waltham? 14.10pm
Aluminium finish Spitfire just passed over Winnersh Berkshire heading north 4pm.
I guess there is a clue in one photo, the wall has a poster of D-ACON and you can clearly see the colour scheme on the rebuild following that by looking at the black band along the window line and black painted engine nacelles as well as aluminium silver painted wings. If it is to become this wouldn’t the four main wheel undercarriage will be the most obviously visually incorrect item? .
Thank you
I remember when it was “flown” in under a JGG? some 25 plus years ago? I think then there was a possibility of the OFMC getting it to flying standard and displaying with the 109/HA112, shame it wasn’t restored to its 1969 film colours and displayed in the BoB hangar.
Don’t forget the FW 200 Condor taking shape in Germany. https://www.dlbs.de/en/Projects/Focke-Wulf-Condor/index.php
What paint scheme/finish is the Hatfield example?, there’s very little of the Sperrin on film but this Pathe short gives a good angle of it with a close up of one of the engines, finish is a two tone affair which I guess was dropped or stripped off later? see https://www.britishpathe.com/video/worlds-best-in-the-air
Thank you all for the comments received so far, for someone who is not as expert aviation educated or involved as some members I am surprised I started this highly interesting thread!
Plenty of good stuff on that channel especially the British B/W films of the 1950s and 60s have noted lots of Vikings, Viscounts and Bristol Freighters to name just a few making appearances even in regular Scotland Yard, Gideons Way and Edgar Wallace episodes….saw the Iron Maiden 1960s colour a few weeks ago with a HP Victor supposedly posing as a new airliner!

This day and age many people leave reviews [good and bad] comments and criticisms on places of interest they visit via Google, Trip Advisor and others, it will be interesting to see what is said if anything in due course.
