I was thinking exactly the same, Roberts two fabulous books on the film are a must for any fans of the movie a pure visual feast but with so much detail on the background of its making…great post… thanks!
I agree and ones that spring to mind “The Iron Lady” in colour with HP Victors in white flash, “I was Montys double” with Avro York [painted out markings] and a firm favourite “Conflict of Wings” with Meteor, Vampires and Swift all in colour on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=US74bAu4wTM
All starring well known actors [if you are of that age] of the 50s and 60s
Remember it being filmed here 1968 [young lad then] and for the first time I had chance to see/got shown the Chateau and surrounds up close thanks to a business visit a short while ago I watched the film again to see the buildings.
Thanks all… it was probably summer 1988/9 or 1990 working out on what car I used then, sadly didn’t take a camera but was a very hot day!
The Mosquito certainly beat up the area and [from memory] performed unlike its usual displays at NW Fighter Meet around that time.
When I was a youngster back in the 60s there was a Brabazon wheel at The Motor Museum Beaulieu, in fact I think they call their restaurant/café the Brabazon ?
Back in the summer and by chance I met one of the people involved in this project, he didn’t know i had a knowledge let alone an interest in aviation but during conversations about something entirely different it was mentioned about this Bristol Freighter which totally surprised me and what i will say there is no lack of determination and enthusiasm from what i heard that i believe it will be happening.
Almost like an airshow day with crowds turning out at Farnborough, especially around the FAST Museum which was packed and no doubt had possibly their best day for entrys for a long time! XH558 arrived at 2.26pm with a quiet pass and a pass aimed at giving the visitors a nice view of her. I wonder how many people would have noticed the Brick at the Cody Statue and its relevance to the Vulcan!

Wouldn’t be this one would it?, very impressive to say the least!

I plan to view at Popham tommorow as on their website it gives quite good info, but looking at the times on the info on previous post what is right? Basingstoke 11.36 where on Popham 12.38? Odiham is closer to me and i hazard a guess they will fly over the airfield heading west toward Basingstoke and Popham only a few minutes flying time.

The Mosquitos beating up the airfield beginning of 633 Squadron and a low level flying tree top [viewed from the ground] of Mosquito in Mosquito Squadron.
BoB and the Heinkel/CASA close up break of formation when you can see the crew in the nose holding on for dear life.
Very nice. But “In the style of” presumably means it’s not actually ex RAF !?

I know someone who has a genuine RAF short wheelbase Vanguard Pickup that is going to be a total restoration [with new panels] to original spec, although it is very rough and a non runner it still bears its RAF roundel and markings and original tilt!.
On the Bloodhound subject the gate guard plinth mounted example has gone from Arborfield REME camp and is not mentioned on the website dealing with preservation/ existing relics http://www.bmpg.org.uk/index.html
Personally I always thought Farnborough with its un equalled aviation connections would have been an excellent base for the RAF Museum, more so now with its huge efforts on preservation of both aviation and associated buildings, on top of this it is easily accessible fresh and bright without having to drive through a very dingy and depressing neighbourhood to get to it.
Looking at the south TV news last night it appears it may be connected with what is happening at RAF Benson?
