No I been to Norwich today Ashley… we can’t fly at the moment but lots of cleaning to do. I maybe down tomorrow to clean a tiger or to as North Weald is on Sunday. East kirkby is far to far to go on my little own, my Rover would never make it 🙂

No one will be going anywhere else as it is only closed till Wednesday, does mean that Classic Wings are having a bit of a rough time though.

I don’t know anything about the extension as yet, did you mean the hard or the grass?

There are rumours that they are talking about buying the field they use as overflow parking to the west, and this has been tied up in some peoples minds as an extension route for the motorway. I havent heard anything from an official source as yet, but if I do you will all be the first to know.

As far as the grass runway goes, I hear they are going to extend it a little, but then there were also plans to put in a short crosswind runway last year, and that didn’t happen.

Wait and see I guess…. Is the fly in Saturday? No flying at Duxford means I have the day off, my friend Rob works up there so might come join you in the Squadron.

It does also state in the AAIB report that the chap in the front had had adequate briefing about the use of the particular seats, and what operating conditions they could be sucessfully used in.

Whatever happened, unfortunately he decided to pull the handles, it is sad but there is no point in putting the instructing pilot through more than he has already had to cope with.

I wish she would just leave it alone, we have all been through enough of this.

That would explain why I couldn’t see ya. Spent a cold but enjoyable day down at Old Warden then got to Hinxton about 8. Will have to catch up with you all another day.

At least I warmed up in there anyway.

Glad you all had a great day.

Tfc engineers have never said they are getting a P38, in fact the only thing they knew about it was when someone from the Avi8 board asked them about it. I think it is a rumour that went right through to the magazines. Good wind up though.

If it is true no one is telling Tfc including Stephen.

Always time to stop and talk to us at Classic Wings, never to short of time to say hello.

Missed everytime I enter Duxford, thanks for all the good times you gave so many people and the inspiration to then to carry on with what you loved.

    RIP

The suggestion a few years ago (not sure how true) was that to let her fly there would have to be a complete Xray in the states (don’t ask me why)! This would mean the aircraft being away for 12months, Harold and Fred would then have a museum without its major exhibit for a year. I know they would love to get her flying, but how practical is it really.

The reason for the extra pan is that we have alot of extra aircraft this weekend. The Props will be on the grass as always, Jets on the new pan (just in place for this airshow) and the Wright flyer and other associated debris will be on the old jet pan.

Thanks for letting us know what time it was Ashley. The roll rate was not bad at all, it stayed well way from Duxford village and the airfield east to west.

Droptank just worked out where you work!

Not quite big enough to block out the Amercian air raid shelter but close.

    True

There are plenty of airfields with major roads running past there thresholds, I understand the problems that are faced by both camps yet (touch wood) we have not had an incident when any person has been injured on the motorway.

I appreciate the measures that have been put in place and this will further reduce any risks that may arise from the motorway and airfield location.
