At 100 million an airframe none of Russia’s other client states can afford this bird so if they hope to recoup their costs they will offer the Indians everything on a silver platter and the Indians will pick and choose what they want on their domestic birds. Seriously, who but the Indians is going to buy the PAK-FA? Libya, Algeria, Vietnam, Venezuela, Indonesia are all too poor and China is designing its own 5th gen. If the Saudis go Russian they are the only other potential buyers around. Iran sure as hell wont be getting any. :diablo:

just wait until we see the UCAV modification of the Yak-130 in about a year or two assuming it beats out the MiG SKAT. :diablo:

Both the sukhoi.org and pilot.strizhi site have been dead for much of the day. The poor sukhoi site usually gets almost zero traffic so its been a brutal day for them especially.

you have to be joking, the landing gear is easily eating up 1/4 of the space giving you substantial room for some S shape character, so how much more “masking” do you think they even need? There are clearly both horizontal and vertical obstacles in there.

And as far as stealth from the “side” goes, the F-22 is basically a perfect rectangle from the side. If you think there is any stealth shaping from this perspective I have a bridge to sell you.

lets be realistic it’ll be 1:12! And if the pilot pulls a “great patriotic” he’ll ram a 13th Eurocanard too.

One question I have is does anyone see a gun on this thing? Looks like this thing doesnt have one!

Can we all agree they need to stretch out that nose? From this angle it looks totally stunted. 🙁

alas, a one day delay! No explanation was given for the delay, but its probably the weather — a bit of snow fell on KoA.

The Su-33’s should be in better condition than most because as carrier aircraft they are actually stored inside the carrier for most of the time and not outside in the cold like most Russian birds. Plus, they spent a good chunk of each year in the warmer part of Ukraine at Nikitka.

yeah, about the only successful Russian procurement program throughout the late 90’s and early 00’s was for long range SAM’s. S-300 were procured in brigade strength. The SAM system around Moscow is as healthy as it’s ever been.

What’s suffered is space based early warning primarily, but that for missiles and not incoming planes.
