Incidentally, DRDO chief M Natarajan has just said that the MCA will not be a fifth generation fighter. He said the aicraft would be an advanced fourth-generation fighter (whatever that means), and that, only if they can get up to speed on stealth concepts.

WTF?? So what happened to that “maiden flight in august 2009” they have been babbeling about so mouch lately? 😡
Now Im deeply dissapointed! This should have been the high light of the comming summer for me. Damn! Pitty Uncle Joe isnt around anymore, so those Sukhoi chiefs could have been given a one-way ticket to the Gulags..

The first flight of the PAK FA was supposed to be way the **** back in 2006 I think. Delays are pretty much the standard now.

a. F-22A: 30:1

b. F-35A: 3:1

c. F-15/16/18: equal or less than 1:1

Wow, that says a lot about the F-35’s relative air combat capability as well. Still pretty good, but that’s quite a difference.

The MCA would be like like an India JSF’ky , it can carry internal and external weapons , and depending on the mission it can act like a bomb truck with greater payload or a low RCS precision attack strike aircraft with reduced internal payload

Can India even afford both the PAK FA and the MCA? On top of keeping the Su-30MKI in service and the MRCA purchase…
