Absolute disgrace, have we not learned anything about aircraft preservation, how has this been allowed to happen ?
My god has the RNHF jinx started already !!!
No real problems with traffic, they did say get there early. Great show really enjoyed it my only gripe was not the display but the state of the museums aircraft. Haven’t they heard of dusting or cleaning at Duxford, i’ve never seen indoor aircraft so dirty !! You go to Cosford and their exhibits are kept clean, come on Duxford pull your finger out !!!!
My first spitfire would be in the early 70’s, one of the RAF exhib flt Spits visited Newcastle-under-lyme, I remember sitting in it, also in the early 70’s sitting in Seafire FR47 VP441 at Blackpool airport. My first Spitfire flying was also at Blackpool in the mid 70’s, Neil Williams in MH434 (AC-S), closely followed at the same show by the BBMF’s Vb AB910.
Is the BBMF visitors center and shop open tomorrow ?
Weather not very cleaver for Coningsby tomorrow.
What is the crack on Friday, Vera due in at Coningsby at 13.30hrs, solo, or with escort from BBMF/ Typhoon ? No news from the RAF yet or are they playing their cards close to the chest ? Rich
What is it with the RNHF and their Sea Fury’s bad luck or what !!?
Looks like cross between a Miles Master II front end and a Boulton Paul Balliol rear !!!!

Smithy ? Is that Ian Smith ?
Thanks folks, yes this thread is for a modelling project, AZ’s new civil Spit kit, by Mark 12’s photos it looks like the decal sheet portrays the first photo. The outer machine gun ports could be the location points for the cine cameras that Tim Davis had installed ?? Just a guess.

Cheers Paul, what has thrown me is a photo of her as OO-ARA of Cogea she has the slim type in the photo, another thought, did she have the larger wheel blisters on the top surface ?
Nothing on the BBMF website for the Lancaster on Sunday ??
Another US aircraft when we cancel our own then shut the flaming factory (Woodford) We haven’t come very far since the TSR2 debacle have we ? Take an envious look at the US aerospace industry.
Nice to see spitfire MK912 out and about.
