Nige,
With you on that one my friend. On occasion, it can be an unfriendly place for the new chap.

In my time in the RAF and Army I have been based at or near Lossie, Kinloss, Middle Wallop and Netheravon and that dosn’t look like any of them. The hills are reminiscent of Yorkshire…..but otherwise….?
Jon
Darren,
Great! Keep ’em coming my old sausage!

Peter,
Have to agree with you that it is a very poor excuse. On the other hand I’m going to be mercenary (sorry) and say that I am delighted that this fine aircraft is (maybe) coming this way.
Les,
The poor old PR 7 at Wyton has been in the same position since Pontious was still learning to fly! They had better get their skates on otherwise there will be nothing left of the old girl……..

Good Lord, so it does……..its been a long day!!
There is a pic of a similar (but I ain’t saying the same!) type of bomb hoist being used inside a Lanc in ‘Lancaster at War 5’. Havn’t got it with me at the mo and I do not want to raise you hopes…..but….
If you need time to save up a little more dosh….there is always the old knacker on the fire dump at Wyton!
Some cracking stuff fellas. Certainly brightened my day. Always remember looking out of my window on the 5th floor of a Portugese hotel in ’89 and seeing a Nimrod pass below me (taking a German chap’s towel off his poolside lounger). Happy days!
Interview without coffee is on the way me thinks! Good pic though mate. You could sell that to the press! Shame the Appache taxied into the blue van though……army pilots, hey!!! Who’d have ’em!
Cheers for the advice fellas.
Cheers fellas, but what about the spade grip? Any ideas who I can approach to get it professionally restored?
Sorry chaps, but I’m new to this cockpit business. Having just bought an original Canadian Hurricane control top (i.e. spade grip), I was thinking about getting it professionally restored for display. I actually have an eye on getting a Canadian Hurricane panel created at some point, but that is a distant aspiration for now. Can anyone suggest with whom and where I can get it done properly (and possibly get an orginial brake lever aswell?
Cheers
Jon
That Live dig was a bloody awful program and he did so well. What I admired most, was the way he tried his silky skills on the the RAuxAF SACW (in uniform) aswell…….Can’t put a good man down!!
