    Viper,

I’m afraid that I’m in no position to offer anything useful on that incident other than, perhaps, my own opinions ;).

    Guys,

This thread could be treated as a wonderful opportunity for you to off-load some of your Russian KFOR pics (partly as I haven’t got any good ones). So, feel free to post anything Russian with a KFOR sticker on it or anything Russian with an obvious Kosovo background.

Thanks in advance for the flood of excellen photography which I’m sure will follow this request.

Isn’t it funny, when observing a war from the outside it is perfectly normal to expect both sides to lie or exaggerate and generally nothing can be beleived until verrified by an outside party or unless both side’s stories match. However, if the US is involved we’re expected to beleive what they say all the time as though they are somehow purer… Since Allied Force I’ve seen things rather differently – the USAF, the CIA, the US government, the State Department or in fact any other source connected with the US (e.g. NATO) has, in my eyes, been utterly discredited as a reliable source of information. They are clearly prepared to twist the truth or blatently lie about anything as long as it suits their purpose.

Yes, thats right, none of the things we were told were true. So that must mean that someone somewhere from military intelligence or the CIA or whatever must have got something wrong. It couldn’t possibly be that both the CIA and military intelligence knew all along that Sadam had no WMDs and that they were just toying with us because the real reasons for the war had nothing to do with Iraqs WMD. Just carry on beleiving that if it makes you sleep easier.

For xenophobic Sun readers and other anti-EU posters:

I know quite a few people studying for economics degrees and one or two of my friends work in jobs where it is important to understand the economics of the UK – they are all pro-EU simply on economic grounds. Ever wondered whether thats why Tony want us in?

I think that even if the EU had an elected president each nation would be allowed to act freely and independently as they are now. For example, no EU nation, not even all of them together, could legally prevent the UK and Spain from participating in a war alongside the US. An EU president wouldn’t change this status quo. I beleive the idea behind it is to introduce a little democracy into the EU structure but not to neccessarily change how the EU operates and how it infringes on the indipendence of individual nations.
