“I hope I am just being paranoid.” – Don’t worry Shelock, you are just being paranoid.
To be fair, Djindjic wasn’t the squeaky clean, loveable character that the western media would have you beleive. He had lots of dealing with the criminal underworld, in Montenegro, Serbia, Albania and possibly further abroad. His rise to power was anything but democratic and he employed his own cronies in positions to increase his power. He did extravegantly shady deals with the US and other foreign powers which were more to his benefit than to Serbia’s. It is hardly surprising that he eventually trod on the wrong set of toes and got himself into a little trouble. The man had enemies in the army, in parliament, in “the mafia”, in the police etc etc.
Nonetheless, I don’t beleive he deserved to die and I certainly don’t think his assassination was a good thing. Not for him, his poor family (with whom our thoughts should be during this difficult time), nor for the nation.

RE: I want to see your face
Much like Kev I fear that my visage would break my monitor… or maybe monitors around the world. The Mass Destruction wreaked could result in an air-campaign on my house and I’m not insured for that.

RE: Your fav. lyrics?
Lennon’s ‘Imagine’?
Sting’s ‘Missing You’ or ‘Seven Days’
Radiohead’s ‘Karma Police’ and ‘fitter happier’
Monty Python’s ‘I love Chinese’

RE: Artillery
Yes but I think the point is, how much does the US army really need when it only gets involved in conflicts where it can be certain of massive, over-whelming air support?
How much of a role did artillery play in Afghanistan? Or Allied Force? How significant will it really be in Iraq?
Is artillery still the “god of war” or is it being ousted by airpower?
