As has been said, any gun law will only infringe on the law abiding citizen.
After Dunblane, the most law abiding folk, my brother included, lost Β£1000βs+ as their legally held weapons were taken from them. My brother was an award winning marksman for the military. All this was taken from him without recompense.
Unfortunately, weapons are still available on the black market throughout the world and still kill more people annually than any horrific massacres reported on the media.
You will never stop the bloodshed until there is nothing left in this world that can be used as an implement of death. β Guns, knives, cars, sledge hammers, axes, machetes, bottles etc etc.
Gun laws in the UK robbed my brother of a sport and a magical weapon. It did not stop any idiot from obtaining a weapon and creating havoc.
My thoughts are that any knee jerk reaction will only serve the politics of this world not the man in the street.
I know that they have all said it, BUT, welcome back Mark!:D
Not in any league with yourselves but an oldy from the eighties courtesy of my now defunct Pentax ME Super!

This begs the question, who took the picture?:D:D
From what I remember! Which is not alot!
C130 days, turn into your dropped load so you know where they are. Get on the ground quick so your props won’t chew the para’s up and yes, next sortie pronto. Time is money.
Superbly executed landing with little margin for error, e.g. engine malfunction. Brill.:diablo:
Well I can! :diablo:
All plumbers worth their salt refer to them as “ejection” seats. This is based on the following principle: ejector systems remove, jettison or release their attachment/content (eg Ejector Release Unit (ERU) whereas, ejection relates to a device that removes itself An “ejector seat” would eject it’s contents (occupant) and I would surmise that MB used the term because they refer to the complete seat installation which includes the ejection gun (which ejects the seat!).

Bang goes another theory:D:D
We could always have a buy one get one free, but where would that leave Andy? π

Keep those thoughts coming. It may just keep our Sally B afloat.
DCW, if what they say is corect, a very memorable and happy birthday.
Thank you for your continued coverage of Duxford and long may it continue.
Ever facinated by the Varsity story as it was the first real live aeroplane I worked on at Oakington (5 FTS) after training.
Thank you again.

Ahh to hell with all the wishes, lets join Wyvernfan in those most enjoyable deserts!:diablo:
When this young boy was at 60 MU Leconfield, I was offered a ride in Lightning T4, XM 970. π
Went through all the rigmarole and strapped in. Engine start- brilliant, taxi- superb. Line up, straps extremely tight, full mil power, double reheat, rolling, captions everywhere, shut down, chute and braking. Have you ever jumped out of aT Bird cockpit onto the wing and slid down off the aileron onto the floor. Not for the faint hearted.
Santa, bring back Thunder City or US of A, XS 422?
Would still as an old man love a ride in that magnificent machine I used to fix!!!!!! 1970-76.:D:D:D
Last pennies may well stop the bean counters. Short-sightedness will doom a magnificent project. Risk assessment will most probably show that pay now and reap the benefits in the future. Tunnel vision will not achieve a brilliant outcome. Think laterally and grab the cash. Itβs out there if you truly want to encompass it. Sally B stay with us. You continue to be an extremely welcome sight on the circuit.
Who can forget those wounderful cartoons of Chris Wren. We are a sorryier place for his passing.:(
Mind you there are some magnificent artists out there still to this day:)
I am I think, like most forumites, one who believes in reasoned free speech.
Our support for the banned 3, the magnificent moderators and those at Key should be 100%. Without these people, where would we be?
Much debate in the UK, both common and scientific has been and continues to be stifled by our current libel, equality, diversity and extradition laws.
Those laws, no matter how well intended have the most monstrous and unforeseen consequences. Our democratically elected government? including the coalition have promised change. Unfortunately this will be at the behest of those who will vote for them in the future. I am not holding my breath.
The 16 month review recently completed has been highjacked by the minority and has not; shockingly but not surprisingly, included the very thing we all use, social media, internet, forums, twitter/facebook. I include the latter even though I have no wish to participate let alone know how to!
Until those laws are amended/changed/deleted, we all live under the cloud of litigation. Thank you Key for making this debate more open. Come back Andy, Peter and Charlie as soon as possible. We welcome your depth of experience and guidance. May your departure be short lived.
