Keep smilin, we is all smart alecs at some time in our lives.:):D
The bottom-line basic Brit has more to worry about than the US elections.
Unfortunately whoever is in the White House and the houses of their Senate affects us. So we should all be concerned who wins. I am still trying to get some enthusiasm for the US elections.
Neither candidate suits me but neither does the prospect of the UK PCC election. People in it for themselves. It is frightening. Time to crack another bottle of vino collapso!

Thanks for clarifying the “flying wires” – It didn’t occur to me that he meant control cables.
Never fear! There’s always a smart alec on these forums to put you right:diablo:
True or False facts?
Found by accident, some thought provoking facts about Rolls Royce;
At least you have AP’s to refresh the deadened brain. Mine is called ancient recall. [not to be trusted by any means]
My dear Jamie, me thinks you are getting a wee bit confused between marks, airframes and timescales. Pembroke/Prince/In service Twin Pin: all interchangeable even by me!. The object for sale includes all of these.
Your summation of the later mark I have no detail with which I can comment with authority!
Wasn’t it because of early RAF experience with the Allison Mustangs that led to the Merlin powered version being developed – or is that one of those myths?
If that magic online encyclopedia is to be believed (type: Allison 1710-F3R) , yes you are correct.
Sorry my bad Bob, the early civil, and the military CC.1 Twinpin did share essentially the same lump as the Percivals, but the Srs 3 & CC.2 had the longer stroke 531 lump, I wouldn’t think they could be interchanged – but could be wrong!
Brain dump from 1980 = Provost TMk1 – Leonides Mk12601, very similar to Sea Prince & Twin Pioneer Mk 125 and 127 Pembroke. Only major difference is Injector and mounting frame. Mounting bolts are the same. Pembroke has electric start. I converted our Provost to that standard that still works to this day. Oil cooler is different. Generators are interchangeable but may need a mounting adapter. FCU is different as stated and cold start solenoid needs swapping. ECU breather is different but interchangeable.
As I said; basic ECU is the same but changes are not beyond intelligent man!
:);)
Not often I pre-empt you Jamey:)
We converted a Twin Pin to fit to Provost WW397. Yes many changes but the basic motor is the same.
We still haven’t solved the initial question, but the flow of magic info keeps me glued.
. A brand new Leonides is probably worth the opening price?
Can be converted for Piston Provost or TwinPin plus others.
Valuable commodity:diablo:
Bomber may not be stretching things too far as I believe one almost made it to Biafra for bombing missions.
Bit confused by the statement that this one needs a few flying wires replaced. I may be missing something but I don’t ever remember seeing a Pembroke sporting any rigging wires.
Interpretation: Control wires! or cables as us old riggers used to know them.
Remember bombing up a Varsity with mini wigits in 69/70. 25lb IIRC.
But then again:diablo:
Doh! Thanks (& DCW), prompted for another bad guess then, early UK Mustang?
Now I’m probably a total P*****k but wern’t the UK P51’s fitted with Merlin’s. I initially thought this was from the prototype or P51a until reading the Serial No 123. Now I am confused.
But then It could have had an illustrious career after that!!
