Wasn’t it at one time being used as a coffee table in the Stork Hotel, Liverpool?
Tell me more
, especially if there`s a chance to look round the new exhibition 😀
Pete
There are a lot more engines for you to look at.
Guys, that’s just fantastic of you all. Yes please is the answer; we have about ten weeks to the unveiling ceremony. Please send me a private message so that we can sort out details.
Many thanks again.
Regards
Steve
PM’s sent Steve and Pete
Dress in your SS uniform and then shoot them ! – that would get you some free press!
Back in 2005 we hired a whole army of them, tanks and an airforce which pulled in around 10,000 visitors over that weekend and a number of following ones.

We only have one Mossie blade and require it, so MerlinPete if you want to drop it of at the museum when down this way I can arrange for it to get to MK if this is agreeable with Steve Bond.
Thanks for that, I will be down at Grange Over Sands in two weeks, but could arrange to bring it sooner, especially if there`s a chance to look round the new exhibition 😀
Unfortunately I have just come back from Duxford and will not be there again until mid-August, typical!
I am away until Monday and will pick this up again then, if required.Pete
. . . . If all else fails:
Appeal to his better nature and he may knock a few quid off it. . . . after it fails to sell on eBay
Pete
Its a bit arty farty and rather pricey
Should have an answer on the prop in the morning, failing that MerlinPete could send his down to Milllom and we can then pass it down the country via contacts.
in reallity, I think this airframe will be either cut up for scrap or torched by the ‘urban explorers’
In reality you will find it is the Chavs who wreck and burn things (including the ones claiming to be Urban Explorers), true Urban Explorers are appaled by destuction as much as ourselves, I think they get rather bad press caused by a few mindless idiots.
I have recieved much useful information from these people and sometimes it is the only record of a site before it disapears.
We have tried with this aircraft on a number of occasions a few months ago and just seemed to go round in circles, and was left with the old “we will get back to you”
Did think about turning up and removing it for “safe keeping”, then eventually who ever owns it may turn up to claim it back.
The RAF Millom Aviation & Military Museum should be able to assist in providing you with a suitable prop blade, let us check out our stocks of spares and we will get back to you shortly, we may be even able to prove a Mosquito blade as we have some but not sure how many.
Nice one Guys! The new premises look pretty good ! Big enough for a Lightning by the look of it!
Jetstream and Shorts comming soon ….. plus the other ‘bits n bobs’
Fly Safe all
Always got room for a Lightning 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Website now running for this site
Looking good guys! Did you secure the Flambards Gannet? I heard a rumour you were after it….
Not yet, when I checked a few weeks ago no decission had been made and wouldnt until the owner returned to work from an injury which may not be for a few weeks.
Have got a big one as well

The pits are lost along with the hydraulics, no one can remember were they came from and they are not marked on the airfield plan. Probably built over by now.
We have located one damaged outer out on the airfield at Millom, was dug up when they built the school boy moto x track, we will try to bring the bits together at some point.
Check out the one in our collection, we also have the bottom section including the ball joint to make a complete stick, it can be seen on display at the museum.
