Great shots – love the night photography

What camera settings did you use, I personally use F22 to give maximum depth of field and do a test for the exposuretime, usually between 1-2 mins

I would be interested in knowing your settings ISO etc…

go with the Canon, – memory cards are very cheap now : – look at

    7 day shop

They were going for about £12.99 each for a 1gb CF card last time I looked

I have a 20D and use it in RAW mode and I am very pleased with the results. I can only imagine that Canons latest models will be better

    Good Luck!

I must admit I had a similar picture accepted last week, that surprised me as it was the same sort of angle as previously mentioned. Although the aircraft i took is quite a rare visitor, but I am not convinced that had anything to do with it….here goes..

interesting stuff, I was at EGNX/EMA a few weeks ago when Royal Niger Govt. 737 5U-BAG came in, I only managed to get a couple of photos from the viewing park at the other side. But upon departure you could clearly see the special nose gear that this aircraft has for landing on rough/grass strips in Africa

Under the same registration there also other photos of this a/c including some close ups of the nose wheel

Paul, Sorry if I gave you that impression, I never have and would never consider turning it in to a form of “competition” there is no competetitvness in this game, just you and YOUR camera…

    Cheers mate

Lets put something into perspective here folks, without subtracting from the original post…..in my own personal opnion its not just how many you take, but what you take, and how well you take it. Following on from that, learning from the mistakes you make (as we all make them) in order to correct the problem/mistake next time. The end result being, less bad/poor images and more good ones and there fore saving precious tme to go out and take some more….

Remember, just a point of view…….and lastly, remember the image is in the eye of the artist, there is no right and there is no wrong, if it comes out as desired/designed then its a result.

well, this is slightly embarrassing, and something I have always kept a tab on…..here goes…..since starting in 1984 I have 17,833 slides, negatives (as I cant calcualte the prints) 8 binders each containing 6,000 negs…..err, and digital well, Im up to 12,800 aviation photos this year, so probably including all my other stuff over the last 3 years I would say nearly 70,000 images….

    Sad eh?

Sorry about the quality – but it was sundown, practically dark..

Photoshop did the rest – for those photographically minded – F2.8/60sec panned ISO400
