Happy Bithday mate!!!
Oy yes sorry of course I mean they have -300’s that look like -200’s with only two doors.
My friend went on one recently from AMS-YYC.
Yes and Martinair is another with 762’s with only two doors!
Have a good time!
I would really like to go one from BRS-DUB but I’m 15 and trying to get my parents on one is like trying to get blood out of a stone. They don’t understand the significance of it!!!!!
WOW!!! that’s looks like a once in a lifetime experience you had there!!
I’m very jelous, however I did get to go on a VC-10 at RIAT 2004 and meet the crew. They were really friendly and told me everything about the a/c. It was its 38th birthday on the day! lol it had balloons tied to the refuelling spike! The seats were facing backwards and it was not an ex BOAC bird. I doubt I’ll ever goet to fly on one though…
I’ll try and see if I can get some photos of it later but no promises as yet.
Grey Area,
I often wonder what would have become of Filton had it become the main airport for Brsitol and the South West and not Lulsagte too. It would have been an ideal location, rail links, motorways quite near to the City but not too near to be a problem and the runway was already built there! They were stupid not to take that excellent opportunity back then. I suspect Bristol International Airport would be about the same size as Birmingham now to be honest. Also as Spence CWL said it was not on a hill which leads me into my reply to SpenceCWL
The CO flights are in the morning around 07:30. Yes, Bristol Airport is on a hill and suffers from bad weather rather frequently but it has a state of the art CAT III landing system so this should not be a problem for the a/c. CWL and EXT are thr main relief airports for BRS and sometimes FZO (Filton).
WOW! I love those shots! Well done they’re amazing and thanks very much for sharing them with us! I bet you were pleased to go in the cockpit especially in America! You were lucky!
Well done! great work
WOW, great photos! My fav is the NW DC-10 on the runway! I love seeing those old birds still flying.
Congratulations too! I wish you many happy years…
I’m really pleased to see BRS expanding! This is a big step for Bristol Intl Airport and they have been tyring to get these flights for years now. BRS is my local and I live in Yatton which is right under the flightpath for runway 09 and all the locals and press are complaining like mad but I’m pleased! I’ll have CO a/c from America flying over my house. Amazing! The runway is very short at BRS! the biggest a/c I’ve seen is a AMM 763, BY 762, MON A300-600.
Great photos mate Well Done!!
