Well my story begins back way back, It was my second time to Florida and we flew AirUk Leisure a 767-300 series I think and after an hour’s delay at MCO for our return flight we finally boarded but wait, one of the lavatory’s was broken and so a plumber had to be called out. Three hours later we finally left MCO. A little into the flight there was some confusion in the first cabin, a lady had a heart attack (typical) and we were forced to land at EWR , it was really fun watching all the ambulances etc follow the plane to the gate. Once she had been carted off it was very late and the pilot came on and said “we are currently searching for hotels for night and we will continue our journey tommorow”, the whole plane began to pack up and gather up when the pilot comes back on two hours later and sais “I’m sorry we don’t seem to be able to any hotels, but you may sleep in the terminal” we all looked at each other and thought ‘theres no hotel rooms in NEW YORK city!!’. Another two hours pass and another announcement “were sorry but we are unable to depart the aircraft because the terminal does not have enough security to watch over us”, some of the passengers revolted and demanded somethig was done. As the crews flying limitation time was drawing closer it was now too late to continuee to the UK, we flew all the way back to MCO were our crew departed and we awaited another replacement crew. eventually we arrived home another 12 hours later.

    The End

I can understand that most pilots would prefer SFB to MCO, it is alot smaller and easier to operate out of in terms of traffic etc. I always hear of how people think takes ages to get through the system but we always seem to be off and in our car within 30-45 minutes which I know is pretty good for MCO. The whole idea is that yes, to Mr average holiday maker the system takes quite a while and seems endless, but to the frequent traveller who knows how to cut time here and there it can easily be done in the above stated time.

Look at what happend Caladonian though, and the other charters of this century operated into Terminal A.

Never fear about PPL’s there are plans for their future.

Lets agree to this there will always be two sides of an opinion (would’nt really be fun if there was not) and that on this one we’ll just have to agree to disagree. Makes life more fun.
    🙂

Also Tampa is a very good, nice and airey inside.

But your friends would not know what the comparison is on board a virgin flight as they only fly on BA flights and are around BA customers. 😉 😎

Well as you may or may not know many US airports are all privatly owned, with their owner only owning them. In an annual year airlines from abroad in their larger aircraft were charged 15% more than the regulars (security and priority etc), when Sanford became a visible option it offered lower costs and not to far away from the action (theoretically on a good day from our area you can do MCO in 30 minutes and it will take SFB at least an hour or more). Softland isf you had done your research you would have found out that the carters flew into terminal A without the baggage reclaim problems not terminal B were Virgin and BA fly into. It was also the airports operators forecasts to be rid of the charters before 2002 (actual account from a family friend who works with the airports manager and operators).

Well you can take a guess as to where I’m going,
    LGW-MCO 7th Aug
    MCO-LGW 5th Sept
    747-400
and yes thats with Virgin, one more flight for me and it’s a freebie and I’m pretty sure weve got upgrades to premium as well.
The advantages of being flying club member….:)

Wysiwyg thats if you fly Virgin, which are one of those airlines which when they began boarding the girl said ” all passengers with small childeren…..” everyone got up and boarded. Virgin is, I’am surprised still a scheduled airline as they carry enough baffoons and their standard of customer is usually much lower than most other scheduled carriers. Although if you fly BA for examle you see that their standard of customers is much higher also on the US carriers they too do not fly as the “bucket and spade brigade”. Also most of the time BA and others (exept Virgin) prices are actually lower or the exact same.

Might I also say that I hope you don’t think Orlando is not good travel destination, and compare it to Benidorm. Our family’s company relys on the customer who wishes to stay in style in a luxury home, not a Motel 6 on I-Drive.

When I mean more formal, I mean theres a higher standard of person (if you know what I mean).

And yes Tampa is really good airport as well, especially because BA fly there.

MCO without a doubt, it’s the only airport in the world were some of the staff know me by name and are always really happy to see me again, also theres no british charter airlines anymore:D 😀
Along time ago there was too many five year olds and beer bellyed idiots wearing Man U tops (nothing wrong with the team).
Thats why we sent them to Sanford, out of the way so as not to frighten the american citizens. CLT is also pretty cool too.
