Thank you very much all of you for those great videos !!!
Wow those planes are really beautiful . It would be cool if they keep that dark camo on them but I think thats unprobable!
Sexy killing machine !!!!!
Well dont know much about the mekos of Argentine nor the mexican navy but i did nnow about argentineans Type 42 but I didnt include then since theyve spewnt all their SAM before the Falkland wars in order to prepare their pilots to the UKs navy . But youre right Chile has no Type 23 its a Type 22 batch 2 , sorry ! 😉
Wow a cooured MFD . Seems better than the green spanish one from FITS
I think SeaCat was a failure against the A4s due to their agility only a success for those delta fighters used by Argentine
From all the brazilian armed forces the navu seems , at least for me , the one who best maximizes its budgets .
Me too!!
Has this got any relation with the recent government acts to turn some of the amazon into governed national parks ?
maybe hes saving money from the FX to do more social work ?
Lula’s government spends much less in social work than the previous one :diablo: .
P.S: Have fun in Rio!!!!! 🙂
Hi Malandro;
Peru doesn´t have foxbat in its inventory….
Oops!!! 😮
t is a subsonic underpowered aircraft that is as expensive as an F-16. the R&D and production costs involved of building a naval variant would make it even more expensive.. structual modifications ain’t cheap. What you get is simply a “modern A-4”, when in today’s world you need something more.
OK , but at the beginning of the prgram an AMX cost onl 8 millions . And I think the AMX-M is now around 20 millions ( too expensive but not that bad as it would if we were talking about the normal AMX )
The only usefulness of using the AMX is in Brazil’s domestic industries. As a combat aircraft it has very little going for it. All of it’s “combat experience” was done in an atmosphere where there were tons of support from US and French aircraft.
I only disagree here at 2 points . Well at a LA teather at least it was the best ground attack plane . And about the context italian AMXs were used , italian pilots claim they were iluminated by SAMs on their strike mission ( I think it was SA-6s but Im not sure ) .
The normal AMX was a failure on exports , a naval version of it would be worse . Thats bad for a private company like Embraer to make it unless the government gives huge amounts of money which I doubt .
I think Srbin was referring to used Su27s . Anyway if we buy a second used one it has to be supersonic to maximize the launch of missiles as well as to allow it intercept fast planes like the peruvians Mig 25s . With the 45 AMXs we have I think thats enough to make anti-ship raids
Sorry Malandro your financial reasoning makes no sense. There is no 700 million US dollar check siting in in someone´s drawer waitintg to be spent, it’s actually a new LOAN, we’ll be paying interest and not receiving it. If we don’t buy the FX then the money doesnt exist at all.
Second, Embraer created a tough political trap for the government when they “married’ Dassault before the first bids wer submited some years ago. After that Embraer put ou a number of advertisings and press interviews declaring the Mirage as a “Brazilian aircraft” and comparing it’s participation in the FX bid to the COMPLETELY different case odf the AMX program where Embraer participated from scratch and developed the wings by herself. In this case they would only be responsible for the final assembly of French-manufactured subcomponents in Brazil, painting and ground and flight pre-delivery testing. OH yeah! They’d be responsible also for the aircraft manuals…
Flankers (Su-33) may be able to operate from the Brazilian Aircraft Carrier São Paulo, IF they fit it with a new ski-jump in the bow, beefup the landing area of the deck as well as the arrestor gear, definetely a minor endeavor compared to purchasing a new aircraft carrier…
In terms of used aircraft I would much rather wish to see the Purchase of dome 50 currently mothballed Italian AMX aircraft in order to give us the anti-shipping strike capability that they have while reducing the number of different aircraft being operated by the Brazilian Air Force.
Buying fighters from the US is a very hard decision today since they won’t sell us the BVR missiles or give us access to the software codes we may need to upgrade the aircraft ourselves, this was the main restriction to the F-16 in the FX bid and it stands for the used F-16s ou even US or Canadian used F-18s.
Commonality between the Brazilian Navy and Air Force future fighter fleets is quite desirable but that would lead us to other four aircraft (F-18, Rafale, Su-35/33 or the MiG-29 derivatives. The problem is that unfortunately the Brazilian Navy doen’t have a clue when it will be able to field the next generation fighter for it’s aircraft carrier…. Ther’s simply no money available for it…
Should the Brazilian Air Force discard the non-Navy compatible aircraft (Gripen, Mirage 2000 and the F-16) today? I’m not so sure myself.

Hammer
Ok , but just to add for our debate there is a news at defesanet ( http://www.defesanet.com.br) from a journalist called Godoy ( if I find it Ill post here the link ) that says US will give us access to F16s codes , be it used or a new one . And if they already said they were going to give us AMRAAMS if we bought F16s then why they wouldnt give us with a used one?
