Falcon4( except for the lack of paper manual) and F15 Strike Eagle3 ( except the super american bias in its manual ) rocks. For non hardcore one s I recommend the excellent Fighters Anthology which I still play nowadays when I want to grab an AMX , F5 , Su30 or Tu160!!:p

Couldn’t agree more. There are better ways for Argentina and Brazil than to rival eachother. Except in football, of course!

    Agreed 🙂

I don’t know much about Chile/Argertina relations in the recent past (there have been some border clashes in the 80s).

They are now in peace too . Chile and Argentine almost made a ship class together recently . BUt still chileans and argentineans people dont like each other

Give me your opinions regard this topic and the aircraft(s) you would choose to fight low intensity warfare. To give you my example I would choose a combination of aircraft. Super Tucano or the ALX(patrolling and COIN) , the Hawk 2000(small fast jet interceptor/inetrdiction), Bryza M-28( troop transport), the EMB-145(AEW/surveilance), NH-90 TTH(helicopter transport), EC-135(laison and light armed attack helicopter).

Add the R99B( a EMB145 with “JSTARS equipment”) would be good here too to track small amaount enemy troops even if they are deep in the jungle

Argentina will have a hard time to match the countries within the region. Any comments about the political situation there? I know about some border clashes between Fuerza Aerea Ecuadoriana and Peruvian AF, but does Argentina have an urgent need for weapons?

Peru said their R77 are unable for use . And for Brazil its not the Su30 which is being offered , its the Su35 and the Mirrage is the -9 version . Now about situatuation in Argentine it seems theyre having a little improvemente there in their economics situation but Argentine need deep reforms if it really wants to get sustained growth . unfortunelty politicians there prefer populist solutions .

What is the use of their ex-Karel Doorman ARA 25 de Mayo aircraft carrier, then? Or was it already phased out of service?

It was already phased out a few years ago.

Unfortunetly due to constrains in navy’s budget the A4 modernization is halted . Well have to content with the HUD and te new radar and the Piranha air to air missiles we installed on it

The modernization of the AMX was already planned with the purchase of the new fighters . One thing wont influentiate another . What basically this thread tells ( among other things ) is that negotiations between the brazilian air force and EMBRAER about AMX’s modernization are over and a contract is about to be signed .

The Rafale is a capable aircraft, probably just as capable as the EF2000 and a little cheaper, you pick one. I think the French are overpricing their Rafale a bit but it’s still a good offer when you look at it on the other side. if its 1.4bn for 18 aircraft then its 77mil/aircraft(Euros). It’s expensive. It’s wayyy too expensive, even if you convert it into American dollars its like 94/95 american, wayy too much

Nah here at least in Brazil Citroen cars I think are really cheap when you see what they offer . Well thats just a car enthusiasic opinion . BUt I agree that Rafale is too expensive . Eurofighter is much better and costs almost the same !!!! 😮 😮

stupidly we carrry on helping Argentina integrate Exocet to Etendard after invasion had happened even though was unofficial and on the hush hush hush

The interesting fact about it is that Argentine wants to join the Brazil-India -South Africa military alliance and they had offered brazil all its Exocets for us to integrate on our planes . 🙂

UAE is getting to much dependent on US they should have bought the R99A which has the same performance . Brazilian president was a few days ago there and they could have made like Egypt which started negotiating 10P99 as soon as brazilian president left Egypt . This owuld demonstrate they wanna close their links with Brazil .

I think this information is outdated . Yes Russia and Peru’s relationship got damaged for peruvian aquisition of Mig29 but to repair the damage peruvian asked the russian to make their Migs 29 capable of firing the Adder and requested 100 of it . NOw both countries have close relatioship but Peru affirmed its Adder were unable for use .

I read once that the Su35 would use a more complexe FBW than the previous Flankers series but that was never fully developed . It was about 5 years ago . Has the situation changed?

But sweadish’s datalink capatibilities are unbeateble till today . probably on a dogfight between Gripen and Su27 on Gripen would track the 2 Su27 while another from an unknown position would fire its Meteors on the 2 Su27 even under a heavy ECM theater .

Also it causes inflation like crazy.. look at Indonesia..

Then many oil countries now are in heavy debt, look at Saudi Arabia.

All because they relied heavily on unpredictable oil profits based on unpredictable prices.

Norway put a large amount of their oil funds in a national government cache which was usually used for social programs.

Problem is that these countries really dont spend well the easy money from it , making populist actions and not managin well its economy ( generating inflations , etc) Nigeria is a perfect case of it . The government is corrpt and populist makes the people thinks the fault is from foreigns explorers which give a lot of money for Nigeira to explore their oil fields .
