Absolutely- top marks for copying every last detail of the original aircraft, even though some might say something is ‘wrong’.
Something is wrong, but what is it??? :diablo: However it was to late to put right
Jackattack is not allowed to answer.
If you can find me at Dux on Sat I might explain.
The Lanc camo, roundels and stencils etc were applied using a set of original Avro drawings that we have on the flight the code letters / artwork are worked out by using original photos.
Lovely photos!
No dinghy marking on the starboard wing, I notice?
Not on the drawing so not applied.
What a fantastic day great coverage on the BBC, showing the nose art early made no difference to the event at all,so no more arguments please!!!
Great shots, I believe TD248 & JG981 will be at Coningsby tomorrow.
Yesterday at Coventry 😀 only joking it should be about 11.30 to 12.00ish. I know that the guests start arriving about 10.00
Also live on BBC Breakfast news starting at 07.00hrs with reports thru out the day. Hangar set up for tomorrows unveilling, it should be a good event
THE BITCH IS BACK –
LOOKS THE DOGS ********.
Cheers Mick that comment means alot :diablo:
Beautiful photos, of a great paint job!
BBMF not adding 474’s own poppy drop symbols to the nose art this time round then?
They might go on the other side by the City of Lincoln badge.
It’s a shame the nose art pictures have been shown 🙁 sort of takes the edge off the unveilling to the 100Sqn & 550Sqn veterans, press and tv on Friday at Coningsby. Unfortunately the fablon covering started to lift and for flight safety reasons it was removed.
Its not painted over I believe it is covered with black fablon
Yes its 100% better we managed to give the painters a large picture of the original artwork for them to work from. I also have seen the trial artwork and agree with you it wasn’t very good. Fingers crossed that the covering doesn’t remove any paint on Thurs or jackattack will be in trouble:diablo:
Plates are put under the mainwheels and a spring balance type device is attached between the rear fuselage lifting eye and the crane. The crane then lifts the rear of the aircraft into the rigging position where the weight readings are taken from all three points , this is the way it is done on most tailwheel a/c
Snaith flypast is at 12.45 on Sun sorry no Lanc but LF & AB should be there weather permitting
The Lanc/ Spit/ Hurri are based at Blackpool that weekend
Shot by chase plane or from the ground?
From the ground
