Isn’t it amazing? Through this thread I have go back in touch with an old friend from ATC days (Lincoln 7). We even shared a flight in a Lincoln to drop a couple of 1000 pounders on the Helgoland range in 1955!
Now to find F/L J B Stephens!

I never flew in RE348, but it was with 7 Sqd at Upwood in the 1950s.
Maybe we know each other. PM me if you prefer.

Lincoln 7: Yes it was 115. Were you in it too?

This is all very interesting! I have written to the archives dept of L’Equipe to ask if they have any details. I shall let you know if they respond.

But the 14th stage would not have been on 26 June. It would have been a couple of weeks later.

Thanks Bager and Dave. Looks like that is the one!

Thanks Darrell. Yes the canopy(ies) look more Cornell-like. But what about the seemingly radial cowling alongside?

And a Harvard in picture 3, with some spare canopies it seems.

Isn’t that an Ercoupe in the eighth picture down, with the red markings?

That is a different kettle of aquadromes!

Billing was one of our favourites places in the 1950s, but I never saw any aviation activity.
