Callsign
What is the chinagraphed callsign you mention? It might help identity.

I can’t get any further. In any case I shall be away for a week from tomorrow so good luck to someone else.

Trident crash at Kai Tak
I think the sad Trident crash at Kai Tak was on 31 August 1988. We were flying SIN-BKK-HKG and got stuck at Bangkok for 8 hours because HKG was closed. Remember it well. On arrival the bits of the Trident were visble for all to see.

Hungary?
But looks a bit like a Sokol?
Laurence
Looks a bit Zlinn-like. Anywhere near?

Chitts: yes it is a sort of competition to amuse (and test) us. To identify your photo just open a new thread with its background information. I bet someone will recognise it.
wout: spot on! Go ahead.
Taken at the Al Ain meeting in February 2004, flown by Kairy of course. An amazing experience.
Here’s another one of him that day.

No idea, but we usually wait until one mystery plane is guessed right before the winner posts a new one. If he or she does not want to, then we declare “open house”.

Thanks again Baz. That is clear now.
Back to David’s videos!
Laurence
Thanks Baz. Sounds logical. Not much from Googling “Argus propeller” though.
Cheers

Pilatus P2 in your “films”
Lovely pictures David. Good to see you launching into the 21st century, but I still think your Changi pictures are classics.
A question related to your “film” of the Pilatus P2. I recently posted on another forum some photos I took of one at the Geneva Classics show last year, and someone asked me about the odd shaped spinner. I did not know the answer and asked around. No response so far. Do you know what those strakes are for, or anyone else on the thread?
Thanks
Laurence

Not the Akrobat.

There are some excellent photos of the EB-1 at

Just one thing. Your clue was a couple of years before the Yeager flight. I presume you meant his 1947 flight, which makes it 1945, but the EB-1 flew in 1943 I think. Near enough though.
Try this one

Laurence
So it is the Higgins EB-1

At Blois in 2006 the H2 was registered in between its “homebuilt” registration F-PNJT and its “factory” F-WNJT. Amazing what a bit of tape can do to hide behind. A nice little “hélico”, and able to make the most of the very liberal French microlight rules.
Laurence

Your are right wout. Just “H2” I think. Taken at the Blois microlight show in September 2006.
Over to you.
