Thanks for that, GFR. Interesting, but sad to see it in such an undignified posture.

Peter.W: did my two replies to your request help at all? It would be good to know.

There was an interesting thread on Key in 2005 that includes photos of the COGEA Spitfires, including OO-ARE. I’m not sure how to link to it, but it is entitled SPITFIRE C.O.G.E.A OO-ARC/NH188.

I saw most, if not all, the COGEA Spitfires at Middelkerke in 1959 (OO-ARA to F). If I remember correctly all were silver overall, but the registration was sometimes on the fuselage, sometimes the fin ( my not very good photo of ARC attached with another in the background). I don’t recall about it also being under the wing. What I did note was that the former Belgian Air Force serial was visible through the silver paint (OO-ARE was SM-36, ex RAF NH238).

Thanks Thomas

Thanks for your message, trumper.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks for that Twin Otter. It would indeed be interesting to see if your “P” Geary is related to us. I certainly don’t recognise them. My family had two branches, with that spelling and also mine (Garey). Keep me posted!

Thank you richard.benedikz for removing this spammer here and after my comment on the Hunter thread.

Thanks for removing minion !
Laurence
Be careful about that post by “minion”. It looks like another scam, like those this forum suffered from last year. Mods (if any still around), or “Key Aero”: can you check? Thanks.
PS: 8 posts in 6 hours, so there must be others lurking.
I just saw that Christer has found some too. Action needed.

To answer Trolley Aux: of course P3175 should be put back on display as a memorial to all the Few.

Blue and 12jaguar: I echo your comments. As Blue knows I follow the Meteor and now the Chipmunk on his new threads, but I still keep an eye on here, mainly for old times’ sake.
As to the Stirling, I am one of the “wider audience” who watch it but can’t contribute actively.
Hope 2021 is better for all than what got served up last year!

PD201, Bruce: I’m sorry to have to inform you that our friend Jim (Lincoln 7) died a couple of years ago. I had known him since we were in the ATC together.

Ant.H and Walter 63: thanks for your replies. I’ll incorporate the details in my final version of the story about my cousin. I am amazed at how crowded that radio/turret area was! I also got some information from Don Clark http://www.211squadron.org with a photograph of the installation in the Mark I.

When I was an ATC cadet in the 1950s I was lucky enough to get lots of trips in Lincolns at nearby Upwood. One of my favourite places, if I couldn’t get up front, was in the rear turret, which seemed quite spacious, but the Blenheim obviously was another kettle of fish. My admiration for my cousin goes up one more notch.
