It has all gone quiet. Maybe it is too obscure.
I took the photograph in a museum in which there were also: T6, T33, F86, F104, A26, B57, HH43, Helio Courier, Bird Dog, Aero Commander, and yet it is not in the USA.
In addition there were: Aiglet, Tiger Moth, Gnat, Viking, and yet it is not in the UK.
Also a couple of Mirage III, but it is not in France.
Now you should get it!

Talking about Constellations, here is one I took at London Airport (Northside) in July 1959 (AP-ACQ).

As promised:
Built by a young man working in the engineering section of a major airline, and flown in the mid 1980s. Powered by a Suzuki jeep engine.
Bright and shiny.

If no joy by tomorrow morning I might consider a clue or two

Almost there, Mike!
(Sorry!)

It’s gone very quiet. Any takers for my microlight of yesteryear? Or need a clue?

A local one for me: the Breitling Super Constellation N73544, ex C-121C 54-156, based in Switzerland. Seen here on finals at the Payerne show in 2004

I wasn’t able to find the fate of the Bellanca. Any ideas?
I have been keen on Bellancas since Ron Flockhart registered his Cruiser G-AREY!

And here are three which will never turn again. Again, as above, from Tony Tubbenhauer’s finds at Benghazi in 1943. The SM79T Atlantici I-ALAN.

Without wishing to deviate the thread too much:
Gnat IE1083 was with 23 Squadron IAF during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965. It apparently mistakenly strayed into Pakistan and landed at Pasrur. The PAF were able to fly and test this aircraft. It is one of the original batch of 23 built by Folland and exported to India, which were in service from 1958. The Ajeet was an improved, Indian built version used from 1977. So the one at Karachi is a Gnat not an Ajeet.

A different sort of nose art: the remains of a Caproni Ca311 mod photographed by Tony Tubbenhauer when he served with 203 Sqd RAF in Benghazi in 1943

My Pakistani friend replied that it is unlikely he will find any photos of the Lancasters/rians as they were in service for such a short time. But he will look!
