Shame to see G-BOAD like that 🙁 . This is gonna sound completely ridiculous but I’ll say it anyway. How about converting 1 or 2 for the use of the Government? They jet off all around the world in their comfy bumpfy 747s with loads of space and luxury features, when all they really need is speed. Usually they only go long distances when thier in crisis talks, visiting a disaster scene or going to conferences and all these require the need for speed to get their as quickly as possible. It’s a ludicrous idea and it’ll never happen but it keeps concorde in the skies and works to their advantage.
I travelled with them back in August on a 738 and found them exellent, comfortable ac, friendly cabin crew, on time and reasonable prices.

What aircraft will take over the routes to Dublin? There isn’t the capacity for a 738 and as dan777 said the 733 are going as well.

CWL to anywhere other than the U.K. Massive potential for more lo-co routes to Spain & Germany and full service routes to NY if Stanley Thomas would invest in the airport e.g Build new access road, extend terminal upwards to get rid of the god awful low ceilings, create more shopping outlets & actually put together a credible stratagy of attracting airlines.

As far as I know they’ve given up on the project as theres already huge lo-co competition and most viable airports have been snapped up already by other lo-cos with well known, established services.

Why? It was the most popular service BA ever operated from CWL and in a survey conducted by the ABZ development team CWL was in the top ten destinations that passengers wanted served from the airport. Is that proof enough that the service will be a success?

lol 😀 if we’re thinking like that no wonder CWL misses out so much, if it follows the league or rugby team it’s doomed!
Durham Tees Valley sounds stupid! If anything I thought a shorter name would be far easier to remember and would attract more buisness. Is there a valley anywhere near Durham? If there is I bet most of the public don’t know that.
