Looks like Cardiff could be getting more Air Southwest routes soon!
😀 hope so. If I’m honest I doubt they’d do ABZ seeing as it’s not one of their current routes, and they tend to follow a pattern in introducing them at their “core” airports (PLH, NQY) and then further expanding them. Next from WOW at CWL I think we’ll see LBA & LGW.
AA and CO both have direct flights to BOS and EWR. North American, ATA and World are usual GI jobbies.
😮 oops, maybe I should have done a bit more resaearch lol.
don’t have any myself, but if you want people to send you them then you might want to put an adress or a PO Box number here (or the equivialnt in Poland) 🙂
Maybe Air Southwest could make CWL-ABZ work!!
Yes that would work nicely with their Dash-8s.
From LCY
Cardiff (I know 6G made a go of this but terminated it – the cheapest way to fly to Cardiff is £464 via Edinburgh into Bristol)
Yes load factors on the 6G route were very high, but it went SWS-CWL-LCY, and the appauling weather at SWS always meant that the flights were delayed or cancelled, to the extent that it wasn’t worth running. There was alot of moaning when it was canned though, unfortunately 6G were still based at SWS back then, and didn’t have the sense to scrap the SWS-CWL leg. A direct 3Xdaily CWL-LCY service would work well. I’d say with either 6G or VLM.
Forgot about Eastern! Well, I mean theres not demand for two airlines operating the route then. Yeh, Eastern operating ABZ-CWL would be good, but I’d still prefer 6G doing it, seeing as their ATRs are much bigger and they could easily fill them. It’s just the perfect route for them, but they never get it right, they insist on having a route that connects the country from north to south stopping off like a comuter train, but it just doesn’t work. Whichever way they do it, at least one leg of the journey is always empty, in this case it’s NCL-ABZ.
You can already fly direct to Aberdeen from Cardiff, from what I understand.
Nope they all go via NCL which is a shame becuase there isn’t a demand for NCL-ABZ, apparently loads on that leg of the journey are rubbish. However there is a market for CWL-ABZ, the proof being BACitiexpress operated it successfully for years until they left CWL in that massive scaling back of it’s services.
Probably very quickly. Are they series -200 or -300?
-200 with 295 seats in two classes.
From Aberdeen, I would like to see Monarch launch some more destinations, as the 4 x weekly to Malaga seems to be doing quite well.
Also Fly Globespan once said they’d launch 14 weekly flights from Aberdeen this year, on condition the airport is open 24 hours.
Other than that, it would be nice to see Ryanair launch a second rotation to Dublin, even if it was just 2 days per week.
More of an alteration that a new route, but i would like to see 6G’s serivce CWL-NCL-ABZ become two seperate services: CWL-NCL
CWL-ABZ
Haven’t Jet2 shown interest in CWL in the Past?
yes but then decided to concentrate expansion up north
Growing rapidly then, another year or 2 and it should be throught the million mark 🙂
coola 🙂
I too would like to see Jet2 at CWL, but they seem to be very focused up north, so I can’r really see it happening. CWL’s best hope for another loco is FR. btw how many pax. does Humberside carry anually?
Aer Arann: CWL- BHD & DUB
CWL:
DXB with EK
YYC & YHZ with OOM
NOC, NCE, TLS & BOD with WW
LYS, PSA, BCN & VLC with TOM
LCY & WAT with 6G
LGW & LBA with WOW
CGN with 4U
Ryanair to establish a base
These are routes that instantly jump to mind that I can quite easily imagine being operated by these airlines by the end of the year. Obviously there are lots more, but I can’t think of one particular airline that would serve each or some of the routes. Lots would be covered under FR
