    Not all, but I used to spend a lot of time there. Incidentally, that Spandau gun looks a bit short to me?

    Yes the photos were taken at the London Gliding Club and as far as I remember, the Luton did leave there under its own steam. Oddly enough, around 10 years later there used to be this chap who flew model gliders at Ivinghoe Beacon and no matter what new model he turned up with, it was always painted with red dope. In conversation it transpired that this was the dope left over from AFIR and he was the pilot in my photo.

    Just came across this thread whilst doing a search on G-AFIR and thought the following photos taken by me in 1967 may be of interest? I believe the then owner and pilot was a chap called Len Dingle.
