Not PAK-FA, but F-26!

Maybe a mod might change the title of this thread, so others won’t fall into this trap. No offence here, Stealth Spy! ๐
As I posted before (can’t find now ๐ฎ ), it seems to be a pod for navigation, detection, sighting and reconnaissance.
The following part of a press report from Mig was posted by someone before, either in the Aero India 2007 thread or in Mig-29KUB, Mig-35… threads
(…)A revolutionary feature of the MiG-35 is the integration of the most advanced optic-electronic sighting and targeting systems. The developers utilized unique technologies from the Russian space program when creating these systems. The MiG-35 is equipped with in-built multi-channel surveying-and-sighting optic-electronic system which has an extended range. The multi-channel optic-electronic station to be fitted to the aircraft in a pod allows for round-the-clock navigation, detection, sighting and reconnaissance.(…)

FI has also two videos online. ๐
Do You know, what’s new on the front of the canopy of that naval-model ??? … looks longer than before ! … and integrated IR-search ??
Thanks again for these pictures, Deino ๐
I wonder, if that frameless canopy opens forward like the F-35 and early models of the Mig-21.
On the last flights of the Rockwell-MBB X-31 a Flush Air Data System (FADS) was tested. This is “stealty” version of a pitot tube.
It might be used on future aircraft and spaceships.

Seems to be a Blackwater Helo

Blackwater Helo down in Iraq
From AP –A small helicopter owned by the private security firm Blackwater USA crashed Tuesday in central Baghdad, killing five civilians on board, U.S. military officials said.
An official, speaking in Washington on condition of anonymity, said Blackwater representatives and the U.S. military responded to the crash.
The official said the cause of the crash was not known and that it was too early to tell if it was linked to the downing of a U.S. army helicopter that killed a dozen American troops on Saturday.
According to a second U.S. military official, initial reports suggested that all five were on the helicopter and not casualties on the ground.
A senior Iraqi defence official, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said a gunman with a PKC machine-gun downed the helicopter over the Sunni Muslim neighbourhood of Fadhil, where witnesses reported clashes between insurgents, and U.S. and Iraqi forces.
The officials did not want to give their names because details of the crash had not officially been made public
This is a presentation from Boeing’s presentation at the Lehman conference a few days ago.
There are a lot of pics of production parts including the first production section.

Just as an addition, the canadian A310 MRTT cannot refuel a C-17, because it uses the probe and drogue system.
So only tanker aircraft with the boom and receptacle system could refuel a C-17.
1) During the Cold War, Great Britain was faced with the challenge of defending a large area of NATO’s northern and western skies over the North Atlantic and Baltic Sea. Since its Phantom and Lightning interceptors were nearing the end of their service lives, the UK chose to develop a derivative of the Tornado IDS for use in the air defense and air superiority roles. The ADV model uses the same basic airframe, propulsion, and systems as the IDS but includes much different avionics and weapons tailored to its fighter roles. Italy has also leased several Tornado ADV models from the UK to fill an interim role until the Eurofighter enters service. The type has been exported to Saudi Arabia to serve alongside its F-15 air superiority fighters as well.
2) The Tornado ADV has been criticised for its lack of “true” fighter performance. However to criticise the aircraft for this is to misunderstand the mission for which it was developed. The ADV was designed to fly and patrol far from base over the North Sea and Northern Atlantic and to intercept its targets (like Russian cruise missile and bombers) at long range – not to have significant dogfighting capabilities. So the second crewmember is more a RIO!
Some early concepts show a single seater version, even with no swing wings.
First I repeat my deepest regards to L/Cpl Matthew Hull’s family and to the other British Soldiers, who got wounded.
The pilots ignored orange panels on vehicles – the NATO symbol for friendly forces.
I wonder, if the A-10C and extra training might solve such target recognition and A/G communication problems.

Weโre in jail dude.
The only person, who goes to jail, will be the person, who obtained the cockpit video. (If he ever will be caught on US soil!)
I bet, he got more money from Sun than from BBC.
The second picture shows the front section of ARMIGER (Anti Radiation Missile with Intelligent Guidance & Extended Range) missile, which is being developed by the DIEHL BGT Defence to replace existing AGM-88 HARM missiles.
However, I asked a few months ago at Flugzeugforum.de, and a member wrote back that the German Armed Forces have canceled the purchase of the ARMIGER.
So the program status is back to the shelves.

Is the finnish government not verifing an offer for 3 Airbus A330MRTT’s?
They will have Finnair markings.

Well, in large two-page sized adds in magazines like AFM, AI and Flug-Revue, it is called:

“Master”, did I not hear that before…. ๐ ๐
