    First F-35 flight may be Monday

    WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the costliest weapons procurement project ever, is set to make its maiden test flight next week, a U.S. general running the project said on Tuesday.

    “I am optimistic that we will see the airplane fly as early as Monday” at Lockheed Martin Corp.’s Fort Worth, Texas, test site, Marine Brig. Gen. David Heinz, the Pentagon program office’s deputy director, told the Reuters Aerospace and Defense Summit in Washington, D.C. […]

    Yes, today only the basic version was certified.
    In the next months each production version has to be certified

    Mirror, Mirror…

    Well, I wonder, if this discussion, if the F-35 is a beauty or not, will change after first flight and painted in different livery coatings. ๐Ÿ˜‰
    It’s like with the A380. In the air it looks from some angles beautiful!
    Next week, we will see!:cool: ๐Ÿ™‚

    B747LCF “Dreamlifter”

    Boeing has unveiled the first pictures of the modified 747-400 Large Cargo Freighter (LCF) to be used to transport 787 sections (pictured below).

    The aircraft is officially dubbed the DreamLifter, in reference to the 787’s Dreamliner monicker.

    The aircraft are being modified by Evergreen Aviation Technologies in Taiwan. The first aircraft made its first flight in September and is undergoing flight testing and the second LCF will arrive in Seattle early next year, painted and ready to participate in the ongoing flight test programme.

    Edit:
    Looks like, the B-747 LCF “Dreamlifter” has no winglets! :confused:

    “Agenda 2010”

    Can’t wait to see the A380 and B747-8 in LH’s new livering markings flying side by side in 2010+.

    Great news for LH, Boeing – and also for Airbus!

    @bring_it_on
    I count 4 B747-8 as Boeing Business Jet. Some sorces suggest or state that the first “UFO” is the Qatar Government. It has also been suggested that the unidentified customer may be Saudi Arabian Airlines, but the article quoted does not seem to confirm this. Planes purchased through the Boeing Business Jet division are delivered in “green” condition meaning there is no interiors and external livery paint is not applied.

    Ok,ok, the title “Agenda 2010” is an insider!

    Just listened on the radio;
    Early 2007 Airbus will present the “gobal package” called Power8 to the workers unions at all Airbus sites.
    Then there will be a decision made, where and how the A350 XBW will be built.

    No, the FB-111H concept was introduced 1978, so nearly 10 years later.

    Does the Hornet have “super” brakes with a long lifetime (don’t no the real name ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ), because it was first built to serve on carriers?
    Maybe that is real reason, a landbased version of the Hornet has not drag chutes.

    I wonder, if the Northrop F-18L had one planned?

    I can see how it is supost to get out of the water, but how is it going to be taken back into the sub?

    Also, wouldn’t such a mission endanger the sub, by giving away his position to an eventual ASW warplane in the area?
