The second fully modernized Lockheed Martin C-5M Super Galaxy test aircraft made its first flight Nov. 17 from Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga. This is the second of three aircraft that will comprise the new C-5M test fleet. …
Happy birthday and many successful landings in a new year of life!
A GAF MiG-29 (29+06) was also brought to the USA for test for nearly two years, from 1991 to 1992. But ths programm was not so black!
F-23 EMD
Actually it would have carried four AIM-120s in that large bay. A second bay would have been added forward of that one for carrying two AIM-9s in the EMD aircraft and production model.
Edit:
This cutaway is from WAPJ, yep, and is truly speculative. For example, YF-23A never had second weapon bay for AIM-9s (F-23 should have). YF-23 had an provisions to carry test AIM-120 on a trapeze launcher AND AIM-9 on a launcher on weapon bay door. AFAIK PAV-1 did carry one dummy AIM-120 for compatibility tests, that’s all. EMD a/c should have TWO weapon bays as USAF was not happy with Northrop’s idea of stacking AMRAAMS in a rows one above another on their ‘revolutionary’ launcher system (not trapeze) – if Lockheed have it all in one row, Northrop decided initially to have 3 rows of AMRAAMS (2×3=6 total) plus 2 Sidewinders on a weapon bay doors.

@ Distiller:
“Fajr-3” is a name for a ballistic missile, artillery rocket (Katyusha) and also for that aircraft.
Fajr is originally an Arabic word that means dawn and dawn prayer in English. So no wonder that the people in the islamic world call their pride symbols with this word!

I like that chinese version of “Global Hawk”; maybe sensors would be in the boxwing!
I hope before Christmas!
The first aircraft, AA-1, has been returned to the hangar at Fort Worth, Texas for installation of the remaining flight-qualified components, and a first flight is now expected between mid-November and mid-December.
A “CVN-78 USS Gerald R. Ford” might suit the Navy, but not “Gerald R. Ford-class CVN”!
So the Navy might go back to traditional names like Yorktown, America, Constellation… (See sferrin’s post!)
My bet would be then on USS Yorktown, remembering the CV-5 and CVA-10 and also 9/11!
I presume, the CVN-79 or CVN-80, which will replace the CVN-65, will be also called USS Enterprise.
Yeah,folks, Enterprise-B π π
But those A320’s will be manufactured in China :(.
Commercial planemaker Airbus has won a multi-billion dollar Chinese order for 150 of its A320 planes, some of which will be assembled in China.
The factory in the north-eastern city of Tianjin will build its first A320 in 2009 and then manufacture four a month.
The deal also includes an option for China to buy 20 of the planemaker’s new wide-body A350.
Economic expansion is driving demand for air travel in China, a key growth market for Airbus and rival Boeing.
Chinese airlines have ordered 150 Boeing 737s in recent years. The 737 is the US aerospace giant’s nearest competitor to the A320.
“It is a means for us to develop a long-term vision with the Chinese,” said Airbus chief executive Louis Gallois.
“It is clear that building the planes in China will give the Chinese an incentive to buy more of our aircraft.”
The deal was signed during French President Jacques Chirac’s visit to Beijing, and adds to last year’s order for 150 Airbus planes signed during Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao’s visit to France.

Germany must be pretty happy with the U212, they’ve just ordered two U212A’s for delivery in 2012 and 2013.
Those 2 orders are U212A Batch 2 submarines, which will have better sensors, new com systems and a larger hatch in the tower with more space for SCUBA-equipped commandos and their equipment.
I think, the tubes can not be use for such commandos , because the U212 submarines use a water ram expulsion system.
