Some German AF students I taught a couple of weeks ago said that the Armiger was canceled.
PBAR
I asked at Flugzeugforum.de, and a member wrote back that the German Armed Forces have canceled the purchase of The ARMIGER. 🙁
So the program status is back to the shelves.
…
Now I just need to find a video of todays naming.

Nein, es ist die “Gabelschwanzteufel II” :diablo: :diablo: 😉 😀
The thread title F-35A “Lightning II” looks great on this forum.
The nosewheel door is attached!
The quotes about Abu Musab az-Zarqawi from the Congresswoman is quite funny! 😀
He is an answer!
It’s a prop for a Bond movie
Was does “Hybrid Bomber” mean, half bomber, half VIP jet???
sorry, not correct…
Merde! 😡
I was distracted from the MBB HFB 320 on the right, I should have seen thefrench aircrafts on the left. 😮
This topic is also discussed at Commercial Aviation forum:
B747-200 with modified engines
No folks, it is not the new B747-8I, 😀
I presume, it was built for a movie (007?) or for the british TV-series “Top-Gear” or “The Stig”
…., even the sensor window under the radar is painted. And the nosewheel door is missing! 😡
Thats because the sensor isnt going to be housed on the AA1.
😮 Yeah, I should have thought first, the Eurofighter /Rafale prototypes had also a dummy IRST housing! 😉
Check back later today for DID’s updated F-35 Joint Strike Fighter anchor post, which will contain those details plus some content updates
News and pic’s soon at http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com

Also – I’m not going to believe that it’s the lightning II until I see an
official naming ceremony. Everyone thougth the Raptor was lightning II
until the ceremony itself.
Yes, Raptor was that time a big surprise.
But while reading Dallas News the last few days, which has contacts at Lockheed Ft. Worth, F-35 Lightning II seems to be quite true!
Dallas Morning News – F-35 to be dubbed Lightning II
at 14.00ET (3 hours from now) on the pentagon channel, there will be live coverage from Fort Worth TX.
apparently they have some news on the F-35, could it be the name’s official announcement. live couverage can be viewed at the website.
I presume, Technik Museum Speyer or Auto- und Technikmuseum Sinsheim in Germany

F-35B Cutaway
IMHO really a X-35B, 😉 :diablo:

The GAU-12/U 25 mm cannon on the backbord side of the F-35A (only for CTOL – & USAF – version).
