Goodbye Boeing 757!!!

SEATTLE, April 28, 2005 — Boeing [NYSE:BA] delivered the final production model of the Boeing 757-200 to Shanghai Airlines yesterday. The airplane is the 1,050th built in the Renton, Wash., factory. The 757 fleet worldwide has flown more than 35 million hours, and more than 1,030 757 airplanes are still in service today. Boeing in late 2003 decided to end 757 production because the increased capabilities of the newest 737s and the new 787 fulfill the 757 market’s needs.

Really? That’d be much needed good news for Airbus. I was starting to think they should scrap the project and concentrate instead in a successor for the A320…

I think, Mr Forgeard just wanted to put the A350 back in the spotlight, after the B787 had a lot of press the last days (AC orders, final design etc.!)

Just said on the live video stream, that the A380 will land at 14:00 MEZ,, 13:00 BST, 08:00am EST.
40 mins to go, there just doing Autopilot tests atm and may possibly do a fly-past prior to landing on runway 32.
