    A380 website

    Just found at a.net.:

On the Airbus website they have put up a whole lot of material for the first flight.

They’ve done quite a nice job – obviously a lot of work has been involved. You’ll find:

    – videos of previous airbus first flights
    – videos of preparation of A380 for testing
    – lots of photos & articles
    – 360 view inside cockpit
    & more.

    TIGER Eye Sensor Suite

Just read this about the TIGER Eye Sensor Suite for the F-15K:

The advanced electro-optical suite, an evolution of combat-proven LANTIRN and U.S. Navy IRST technology, will enable pilots to fly and fight day or night, and in adverse weather. ….

Our TIGER Eyes Sensor Suite will give F-15K crews the most prolific and successful targeting and navigation system in the world,” said Kenneth Fuhr, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control program director. “Additionally, the IRST brings an advanced threat detection system to improve the pilot’s air-to-air combat effectiveness.”

The TIGER Eyes Sensor Suite includes mid-wave staring array Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) navigation pods with terrain following radar, mid-wave staring array FLIR targeting pods with a 40,000-foot laser and Charge Couple Device (CCD) TV, and a long range IRST system. The targeting pod design facilitates the precision delivery of air-to-ground weapons at the longer ranges of today’s precision weapons. The TV complements FLIR capability during daylight operation.

IRST, a pylon-mounted version similar to the U.S. Navy F-14 IRST system, allows pilots to detect and assess long-range airborne threats. A passive long-wave infrared sensor system searches for and detects heat sources within its field of view. The system gives the aircrew unprecedented on-board situational awareness while significantly enhancing the engagement range of modern high-performance weapons.
Our team’s expertise and creativity in upgrading targeting, navigation, and IRST systems continues our legacy as designer and producer of the most successful combat vision systems in the world,” said Michael T. Donovan, the vice president in charge of combat vision systems at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.

“This order benefits the ROK and will also benefit Central Florida by adding future work in Orlando and in our Ocala manufacturing facility,” added Donovan. “Along with Sniper XR, PANTERA, Joint Strike Fighter Electro-Optical Sensor System, and NITE Hawk, the TIGER Eyes Sensor Suite is keeping our Combat Vision Center the world’s leading supplier of electro-optical targeting and navigation systems.”

    ….

    The first IRST on a F-15! 😎 🙂
How long was I waiting for that?!

The F-15K with GE-F110-GE-129 engines, CFT’s ,AN/APG-63 rader, LM’s TIGER Eye Sensor Suite, Boeing’s JHMCS and BAE’s and NG’s ECM Systems sounds to be the best F-15 so far.

Cargo version of 747ADV could launch first

    ATW Daily News
Cargo version of 747ADV could launch first
    Wednesday April 20, 2005

Sources in Chicago told ATWOnline that Boeing possibly may launch the 747ADV without a passenger version at this stage.VP-Marketing VP Randy Baseler would not comment specifically on the model’s launch criteria but told this website that he is “positive on a launch.” He said Boeing would like to have a passenger version commitment but would not elaborate further on whether it would launch with cargo-only operators.

Airlines have been pressing the manufacturer to commit to the derivative, but some are coy on committing hard cash to the project just yet.

    F-2 Super Kai

Dear folks, I used a online translator to translate this site:
    http://www.masdf.com/crm/f2superkai.html

    Translation.

    I hope, the links work!
    Some facts from the link:

    ・AESA radar
    ・LINK-16 JTIDS/MIDS (data link system)
・Made rear seat only for WSO (stem of soldier of ..taking off.. Shi officer).
    ・LGB (laser-guided bomb) operation ability
・WCMD (inducement type cluster bomb) operation ability
・JDAM (GPS smart bomb) operation ability
・AGM-154 JSOW (GPS inducement cruise missile) operation ability
・AGM-88 HARM (high-speed antiradiation missile) operation ability
    ・AIM-120 AMRAAM operation ability
    ・AIM-9X sidewinder operation ability
・JHMCS that enables off board site aim(helmet sight)
    ・PANTERA FLIR operation ability
    ・Scout Pod operation ability

F-2 becomes possible installing an additional fuel of 3400 liters, and leads to the extension of 1.7 times the cruising range increase and great combat radiuses by a simple calculation if an in-flight fuel of 4700 liters can be installed, and the capacity of CFT is equal to F-16Block60

…However, Mitsubishi and Lockheed last year began marketing an enhanced F-2 Super Kai concept – similar to the US company’s F-16 Block 50/52 – to meet the F-X requirement, in a bid to ensure the type’s continued production (Flight International, 19-25 October 2004).

Here some model pic’s of the enhanced F-2 Super Kai concept:
