Funny the things you find yourself doing when procrastinating about other, more important stuff. This list, for example.
And here I thought this was a professional forum. Why must all topics end up with this back-and-forth arguing?
I’ll take a typhoon anyday. The Raptors good and all and the Berkut is unique, but the Typhoon has class!
And they managed to make it just as ugly too.
The YF-23 is destined to be one of those planes that will only fly again in our imaginations.
True; it wont be long before some kid photoshops a Japan ASDF F-23.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Brazil, Japan, or Canada came out of the woodwork with something.
The F/A designations are unneccessary IMO. In the past, any plane with at least some semblance of fighter capability was given the F designator (F-105, F-82, etc.), the A designation wasn’t used much by the AF; don’t see why it should be any different today. The F/A in both cases (Hornet and Raptor) was a political gimmick, really,
This is probably the wrong place to ask this, but could anyone possibly translate those cartoons?
What I would like to know is how the heck they plan on fitting the Meteor into the F-35’s bay…
Naw, Ace Combat Zero doesn’t look that good; besides, they’re never shown with a loadout like that.
Since were on the subject, how goes the development on the Su-35BM lately?
Here’s a slightly changed 3-side profile !
That aircraft is an almost perfect representation of what a hybrid of the YF-23 and the Mig 1.44 aircraft would look like. Very sexy aircraft, if I do say so myself.
Indeed, one of the great completely-irrational-yet-really-cool ideas we occasionally see. It would be a great modeling idea, at the very least.
Perhaps the ‘Hawks could possibly upgraded for a more attractive export, or at the very least perhaps even leased by the US Gov to the IDF pending F-35 delivery.
Perhaps they could replace the two engines with a single large engine a la F-20.
When was this proposal created and by whom?
Why is it that just about every topic on this forum nowadays degrades into this incessant bickering?
Anyway, what advantages would having twin tails have other than propoganda?
Luck. In these kind of practice engagements, will always get lucky and squeeze off a succesful shot once in a great while. Even the F-4 got some kills on the F-15 when it was first being tested. Recall when the boards were abuzz awhile back about the F-18E gun camera image.
