Kemble is pretty easy for photos but remember there are two distinct areas. On the A429 is a large lay-by that overlooks the scraping area and the end of the runway. The main airport entrance is off the A433. From the layby go into Kemble Village and turn left, past the station and left at the A433, entrance is about a mile on the left and can be missed. This will take you into the airfield proper. once inside the road splits and left takes you to the tower, cafe and airliner hangars. Right takes you to the Britannia and others. No security issues as airside is all fenced off.

Would the ambassador not be a structural test example as all aircraft are accounted for? The Vampire T11 could well be a mock-up, or a prototype? The pod on the right looks like a Sea Venom, so again mockup or prototype?
Interesting photos anyway.

just a quick note to say the event website is up and running http://www.blackbushe75.com/index.php >Have sourced a running Merlin and Bristol Hercules, and plenty of airworthy aircraft. Still room for cockpits though!
thanks

I would agree that tha tail and ‘cockpit’ look about right for a DH4. My first impression of a triplane is that the distance between the less damaged wing looks too short, and I had assumed it was a single seater, but Im no expert.
Looks like a Tri-plane to me, although the tail looks different from the Shuttleworth Sopwith example? The Sopwith triplane did serve with No.2 School of Aerial Fighting and Gunnery at Marske near Redcar so that may well tally?

I think an A350 is due to go on display (in Toulouse area, not airfield?) also.
There have been a pair of A350’s parked engine less at Toulouse for a year or so. Good job the Toulouse museum has quite a bit of vacant ground. It’s a great place if you are ever in the area.
Well done for saving this aircraft. Sadly twins in particular have really gone out of fashion in the last 10 years. In the coming years there will be more, and more pre 1970’s metal light aircraft being redundant as they reach the end of their lives. Lets hope some more people will save some?
Very interesting, will definitely be going next Saturday. Have never seen any of those outside of the BoB hall, unlike some of our older viewers?
Love the technology on the BF110 trolley!

Junkers has safely arrived at Cosford. It must be nice to see the light of day after 40(?) years!
Amazing progress for a volunteer lead museum. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for that I will try Merlin Pete. Sadly the Phantom might be a bit big to get in the back of my Skoda!
cheers

Thanks for the update, will probably go up next week for a look. Has the museum released full details of what is going where and what will be at Hendon when it is all finished?
Just giving this a little bump. We have penciled in a good selection of historic aircraft and should be able to reveal some publicly soon. Still looking for cockpits, have possible Lightning and Hunter. Also looking for running Merlin and Bristol Hercules engines as those on the web seem to not have active websites.
cheers

Douglas Boston, now what ever happened to the one that was being built as a ‘bitsa’?
Plenty of more modern stuff missing like a genuine RAF Neptune, Washington (do any ex RAF ones exist?), Skymaster, Stinson Reliant, Beech Expediter, and Vickers Warwick.
It has to be one of London’s largest brown field sites and has great transport links so it is a very logical place to build on. It can not be sold off as a civilian airport as the runway would need to be shortened for civil standards as happened at Farnborough. That would make it too short to be viable for commercial operations. The Royal flight could move out to Benson, hold on that sounds familiar! Farnborough, Biggin and Luton could adsorb the bizjets .
