It is perfectly feasible as the P1081 flew in 1950 and Hawkers moved to Dunsfold in 51. However I don’t recall Langley having a hard permiter track as in this photo. I thought the only hard standing was outside the hangars? Also the runway, still being grass may have been rather on the short side for the early jets?
G-OPLC Dove Fairoaks to Weston, long time since I have seen this.

Nice purchase, I see its permit expired last October. I assume it will be restored to fly?
It is perfectly feasible. Although way, way before my time both Heathrow and Northolt had public enclosures in the late 40’s. There were also pleasure flights in Rapides into the mid 50’s. I believe on BofB weekends there were static aircraft on show, certainly in the 50’s.
Video from 1948, shows a sign to the visitors enclosure.
Some interesting photos of the era here https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/search/?q=heathrow&f=airport&exact=1&type=®istration=&operator=&code_number=&construction_number=&airport=&country=&photographer=&date_taken=&airshow=&military_unit=&information=&search_type=simple&f=airport&sort=date_taken_formatted&order=asc
The only thing I would query is the year. I believe prior to 1956 photography was actually banned at all RAF displays. How each station carried this out with zeal could vary. I certainly remember ready about the lifting of the ban in old magazines. of course the FAA and USAF had no such ban. So the date might be a few years out, still great photos.
Yes the Kestrel Trainer was briefly called the Rolls-Royce trainer after RR purchased a stake in Phillips and Powis around that time. I believe they were looking to keep the Kestrel in production and this aircraft was the best bet for this to happen.
I see the naughty fields was in use back in the 1940’s then…………….
I must admit dvd’s have gone the way of magazines since the invention of the internet. I generally buy Flypast when I go on holiday to read on the plane, and maybe at Christmas. Youtube has some very interesting stuff and of course it is largely fee so you can just dip in. Would love to see the likes of the RAFM, USAFM,IWM etc digatise all their film holdings, every bit of it. Doesn’t need to be produced in any way just some details of when, where and what. It won’t be too long before WW2 is out of living memory, particularly the less participated in bits like BofB, Russian Convoys etc. When did the RAF cease to have a film unit? Did it cover Aden, Malaya, Suez etc?
Good news for those of us in the south who have never bothered to travel to the wolds of Stoke lol! Nothing on their website yet, one for a summer visit.
The book ‘Lightning boys’ relays a story that a QRA pilot was asked to leave his QRA alert to a USAF exchange pilot who departed shortly after and returned without missiles and implies the Lightning shot down the errant C-130.
Small update is that it would cost £10k to move by road ,currently racking up c£150 a week parking at Coventry. As ever money is the issue, may be a attempt at crows funding but time is running short.
Latest I have heard on PSA Is £2million is required to get her airworthy, even for a ferry flight. So if she were to return to Blackbushe it would be by road. need to win the lottery!
This may answer your question, no date that I can see though.

Just a little update via some second hand information that PSA is not under threat at the moment. Everything is on hold while somebody I know is trying to put together a rescue bid. The site of a new home has been secured, and in fact PSA would be returning to it’s first home in the UK, and by air. However money , as ever, is the issue. Will keep you posted with anything I hear.
If anybody hears anything else please share.
Interesting about the removal by road of a 6. The people who I know are planning to fly PSA out so don’t know if it is SIXC that is planned to be removed by road by GJD?? Any ideas??
