I’m less concerned about a nuclear detonation . .
than I am about the use of their available enriched uranium exploded conventionally in one of the urban areas. They have several hundred prop-driven aircraft. If they launched them “swarm style”, how would you know which one (or more) carried the fissile material? And if/when you shoot down the armed one, it crashes, explodes and irradiates the area, anyway.
A “dirty bomb” attack would be simple, and they have everything they need today. It is a concern because they are the least rational player on the world stage, and absolutely the least rational nuclear player. They’ve drunk their own koolaid for over 50 years. In their mind, they are “victims” and victimization is vindication.
The second major issue is the sale of fissile material to the jihadists. Again, I don’t see a nuclear detonation as a major probability, but explosion of enriched uranium in an urban area is a very real nightmare. They need money, and the jihadists have lots of it. That’s why we need radiation emission satellites/aircraft parked over North Korea country for the forseeable future
