all the more reason why India should’ve chosen the Mirage 2000 in the first place.. not only would they have gotten it sooner and retire the MiG-21 earlier, but that the MiG-2000 was something they probably could’ve built.
They would since Dassault offered to transfer all the manufacturing tools to India… but India passed on the offer.

Pak-FA, with its levels of stealth & range and very long range missiles could effectively deny the airspace by going after air tankers & awacs and support crafts. How could an enemy sustain operations near Russia if they don’t manage to secure the routes of those support planes?
For chasing incoming bombers the Mig 31 will do just fine, so will do overarmed Su27/30/35s.

f23 fail because bay is not big enough like f22. f23 use back and front style bay that pakfa also use but in the end f22 style bay can carry more efficently.
that is why j20 is more influence by f22 style bay and can carry much more

this one is official diagram
Good luck fitting 4 R37 or Kh58 in a J20 if this pic is anything to go by.

Yes that would be possible, however you would need to add a weapons interface, which would be no hassle.

In order to be sure, the MWB needs to be at lest 115cm wide. If it is less than 115cm than you need to change the position of the two rails intended for Kh-58UShKE in order to store 3 RVV-SD.
It would be easy to dismount those rails and add attachment to fit three evenly distributed rails for smaller weapons. Why would you have to use the same rails or pylons than with the R37 or Kh-58? Make them removable and fit the weapons bay with the possibility/wires to add three rails.
You could even develop a sdb like stand off ground attack weapon for when saturation attacks are required that use the same pylons.

I’m not sure six R77 would be better than the four R37 because of range issues. Would six RVV-AE-PD fit inside the main bays? The ramjet intakes should make it more bulky than the regular R77…

Read the article. They’re talking about the PAK-FA. Which has always been supposed to operate alongside the MMRCA.
Nic
Hmmm – while I’ve no idea what the design load is for PAK-FA, for Su-35, there are 12 hard-points.
Can anyone really see the Russians (of all people) accepting half that on their latest and greatest?
Well 4+2 is the same loadout as the Mig31… I don’t think anyone ever complained about the Mig 31’s weapon load?
Nic
You could at least fit 4 MRAAM in the bay. The lower two would be shot off rail with the pylons moving to face downards (a bit like the F22 AIM9X pylons face outwards), and the two top would be extended and then ejected.

If you put one rotary launcher per side you would need missiles with folding wings.
http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=366928adaptor.jpg
You get a bit more room if you synchronise the rotation of both rotary launchers, (and you would have to put each the front and the back of the rotary launcher on some sort of rail so rotation could be accompagnied with movement to free room for the other side’s rail as it positions to eject a missile).
You would still need folding wings though. I use missile a bit bigger than half the R37 that I think Paralay used in this pictures (200mm diameter for R77 as opposed to 380mm for R37.

Here I relapse into one of my fantasies…
In an ideal world India and Brazil would be collaborating on a common aircraft carrier design. Two 60000 ton class carriers for India and 1 + 1 optional for Brazil, with work shared between shipyards from both countries.
Fantasy mode off. Carry on….
Since we are dreaming, can we add France in the mix please 😮
Indeed the F18 should be replaced by the same plane.
Nic
ok ok 4 it is then… 🙁

Why not Russian PAK-FAs, in exchange for, Mistrals or something?
Better idea than waiting for HAL to start producing what will still be largely Russian at core.I still have huge doubts about Indian export PAK-FAs, but that’s another story.
Well why not, but I think Indian manufactured Pak-FA would be cheaper, & the Mistral deal is done already. Also maybe the Indian Pak-FA would be more foreign content-friendly
Nic
With such deep layout, you can imagine a triple rotary launcher on each side.
So you could carry 3 long range AAM in the aft bay and 6 MRAAM in the front bay + 2 IR missiles.
