It could make sense also to use light helicopters for that, I was wondering about that too. Attack helicopters now cost around 40 million, not sure they are really that cost effective. But an aircraft can quickly climb to have a better view. Helicopters might be forced to approach if they fly very low. I’m not sure which one would be better. Also heavy ATGMs have enough range to attack helicopters, and planes cannot be attacked by ATGMs.

I’m pretty sure your titanium bathtub alone would cost north of the 6 million you are targeting.

What would be useful is a mini ballistic missile carrying around 12 autonomous anti tank warheads. UAVs will detect tank formations and you will launch that missile over the designated area, each warhead targeted at one particular tank from the top.

It could be ground launched like a SAM systems and easily configurable so you could replace some of the warheads with decoys to disable SAM protection of those tanks. Maybe it could even be recoverable?

In the space of 30 seconds, a target doing M0.9 can move a maximum of 7.965km away from the predicted point, that puts it only 18.58deg at the most off boresight at the 25km seeker range, hardly a large manoeuvre and well within the coverage of the seeker. In that time at 40,000ft, a closure of 40km would have been achieved, with the seeker reaching out to 65km.

Except that the target already 7,965 km from the predicted point, since the missile aims for the point where the target is supposed to be 30 secs later. So running away could potentially double that range from the target to the predicted point.

where did you get all this info? It seems to me that the Kfir has had quite a few satisfied customers around the world, and certainly the use of the J79 motor instead of the ATAR should have improved performance somewhat.
