According to the Kurds, Russian jets have helped Goverment jets in striking kurdish forces. And they’ve bombed known US/UK forces locations. Mostly what seems to be without any regard for Collateral damage. So all in all, they’ve probably bombed everyone apart from Assad’s forces and themselves.

Even if it was true, UK & US forces have nothing to do in Syria since it’s pretty obvious to anyone who doesn’t have his head up his … that they are actually training & helping ISIS.

All western forces present in Syria should be game for the Russian & Syrian planes.

Russia on the other hand has been asked for help by the leader of one of the few remaining sovereign nations in the world.

It’s a shame you can’t design a loiter-kill swarm weapons that just listen for the words “Allah Akbar” before homing in on the source.

You can’t because of the Chechens.

In that case, everything currently being fitted is a dead end, so why single out the swashplate?

Because it hasn’t even been introduced yet and we already know what’s going to replace that “technology”.

That might be a valid argument if the Gripen C didn’t also have AMRAAMs. And UK only has C-5s BTW, certainly back in 2008 anyway.

I’m afraid if you want to use the positives of a report, you also have to accept the negatives. No dice.

If they offered C-7 they will use C-7 statistics O master of the truthbending.
Also the Gripen doesn’t have the same kinematics than the Typhoon, or maybe the Gripen wasn’t considered able to make use of the range of the C-7 in certain conditions (for instance radar lock against ECM protected targets shorter than the missile range, making missile range moot)., or maybe the absence of IRST to engage only after positive identification…

Fact of the matter is that there are so many variables that influence engagement capabilites, and radar range is far from being the only important one. Using it as a proof of the superiority of one radar on the other is total bull, especially when other grades which are directly related to radar show the preference of the Swiss Air Force to the RBE2 (be it PESA or AESA).

In other words you are again attempting to twist the truth.

The Rafale will have ‘conformal arrays’ by 2019? Because that’s when the first AESA-equipped EF is scheduled to enter service.

Nope but it’s pretty obvious that the swash plate is a dead end, as logic dictates that the future will be “smart skin” with 360° multifunction GaN coverage.

That hardly proves the assertion wrong. An overall result, doesn’t change the individual impact of a given area. The Typhoon radar, horribly outdated as it is, still beat the Rafale radar on engagement range.

Engagement range isn’t necessarily about Radar range. To me it just means that since the EF was proposed with Amraam C7 & has better kinematics, it could engage from further. Period.

Detection & acquisition are linked more or less directly to radar. Engagement not necessarily. Unless of course you have proofs that it’s the ability of the radar to engage targets.

Well for the time-being yes, the Rafale’s radar is ahead on detection and acquisition, even if not engagement, because it’s using electronic scanning, which is a superior technology. But the technology will eventually equalise leaving the larger radar in the lead.

Except by then the Rafale may have conformal multifunction AESA arrays.

Unless we give up all the dev money on welfare for our espoirs pour la france.

US airstrike kills 62 Syrian soldiers.

I’ve been saying for years that it was debatable who the US actually bombed in Syria.

the french invented the metric system in the first instance, and no, inches feets and whatnot doesnt lower rcs

The metric system existed in ancient Egypt dude.

Now back on topic. China & Pakistan surely won’t like an IAF equipped with a few squadrons of Rafales & Pak-FA. Especially if numbers are made up with Super Flankers.

With MADL & LOS, you only need LOS to a another node which is why MADL is designed to support 25 nodes.

Yeah control your stealth UCAV with 25 support nodes to relay data. Nice way to achieve surprise.

MADL or SATCOM to the F-35 that relays it to the UAV.

MADL is a directional datalink, which means you need line of sight. As for satellites, you are absolutely right, they can’t be jammed… ever.

Why put a man in the back seat to control UCAVs?

Wouldn’t the controller(s) be more effective if he was on a ship/base in the area?

Because you need direct line of sight datalink or else your opponent could jam your drone?

Really, do tell. It was shelved look it up for yourself. In AdlA service on Rafale will not be able to receive information from the missile.

Btw, not that a two way link offers some massive advantage anyway.

Sorry for the confusion with garry.

I can’t remember where I saw the two way link upgrade.. for MLU. I think it was not online but a magasine.

Wrong, the Rafale is unable to make use of the Meteor’s 2 way datalink that has not changed, and there are is no timetable to correct that.

    Yes there is.

I did “prove” it… And have several times when people bring up Picard’s B.S. You can believe them if it makes you feel better though.

I never said I did, I just set out to show your dishonest way of asking anyone for proof that anyone else said. And when that people points you where some data could be fetched, you refuse to go look.
