    RE: Monoply in Engines

    Hi there,
Generally Airlines don’t change engines unless something like fuel comsumption is too high, or unexceptable maintainence is required. Remember the engine is the most critical part of the plane, with standing turbine temp of about 1000c(not exact), and outside air temp of -50, and then having to be able to swallow large bird, and then producing 100,000lbs after it, it is quite demanding, and airline have to pick the right engines for the job. The American Airline might go for the P&W engines because they operate better at higher tempetures, and the british go for RR coz they work better at cold temps

    RE: Monarch Airlines

    Hi there,
Monarch are a good airline. But I like Airtours International better, they have treated me better in the past. I have had one delay with them, and that wasn’t due to the Airlines, It had to divert to Edibrugh, then Fly to Glasgow, stupid I know, but it was ATC that guided them, em, well there you go

RE: what do u think of glasgow prestwick airport

I think Glasgow Prestwick is a good Airport, but for it to be successful, it needs to expand, and have more routes on offer, also cargo is good for that airport i belive.

    Hi there,
Don’t buy FS2000, wait until FS2002 comes out, it is going to have faster frame rates, increased texture quality, and better cockpits, the scenery from what I saw, looks photorealistic.
If you want to get onto Hardcore Cockpit Simulation, coupled with excellent Scenery, buy Fly! II.
Also If you get Fly!II I would recommend buying PMDG B777-200, when that is updated for it(http://www.precisionmanuals.com), go for it. I am going to buy both, so I can get the best of both worlds, ha hah ha

    Hi there,
What about on the TV program, Airline or whatever, I would go 50/50 on them, Most of the time, it is the passengers fault and arrogance that are the problem, and of course factor outwith the airlines control, eg the weather

    RE: A330 vs B777

LAST EDITED ON 05-05-01 AT 07:08 PM (GMT)[p]Hi there,
The A330-200 by far, come on guys, I we wanted a plane that my brother could fly, we would ask for it. A plane has got to be complicated, not just anyone can fly it. The best cockpit by far is the B737-300/500, and the B757-200/B767-200/300.
I also like the Airbus cockpits, but they look to clean. But If you want a lane that you have to fly stick and rudder, then nothing can beat the Trident, or BAC1-11, aah

    Hi there,
Air Traffic Contro, Eh. Go for it! They are looking for Controllers nowadays, and they need them fast, with Air Traffic set to rise, we need more of them.
I have a question for pilots, How do you feel, about someone on the ground controlling your flight, and you have never met them?

    Hi there,
I want to join BA, I am only 13, so I have a long way to go. My route is to join the RAF, then go to BA(Saves a lot of money), I think they call it the direct Entry scheme.
Anyone know how much an average Co-pilot gets?
    With Regards

    Hi there,
I totally agree, a New! London Airport would be the best option, but how far does Tony Blair’s wallet streatch(Not bloody far) tight git. Anyway, I think the best site, would be London Ashford, like it was in Airliner World. I think Gatwick, and Heathrow should be blown up. Mind you, what about Manchester, there should be small airports in london, and all traffic divert to Manchester or something. What do you think? Get Airport Inc, and design your own New! London – xxxxxxxxxxx

    RE: A B747-500?

    Hi there,
Do we really need a super sonic aircraft? I think the B747-500 would be a more realistic approach to things. The Concorde, is for the elite, not for anyone, and everyone

    RE: your favorite airplane

    Hi all,
My favourite aircraft has to be the B757-200,and the TU-204, looks alot like the B757. From Airbus, it has to be said, all there products are fantastic, the A300-600 superb, pity airlines are converting them to pure F.
I have a question for all you guys and gals, what cockpit do you prefer….

    1a – B747-200
    b – B747-400
    2a – A320
    b – B737-xxx
    3a – DC-10-30
    b – Tristart
    4a – B777-xxx
    b – A330/A340

I like the B757/767 cockpits, they are just right, complicated, but simple, if you get my drift. The B777, I hate the cockpit, you push a couple of buttons and the engines light up, another few, and the FMC is controlling everything, form just afterT/O to the landing roll, what do you think?

    RE: Airliner avionics systems

    Hi,
Depneds on what you mean, when you come out of the RAF, do you want to go on and be a techie for an Airline, or maintianence company, such as FLS Aerospace (http://www.flsaerospce.com), or do you want to become a pilot. Anyway, there is a site I know, that is a sorta moveable map thingy, and you click onsay the overhead panel, then say the ELCETRICAL panel, and you click on the button, and it tels you what it does, I have given you the link for the B777, but at the bottom of the page is links to the B747/757/767, or A320,etc, so here is the address(http://www.meriweather.com/777/777_main– htm# %0)
    Hope I have helped 😀
