…Funny that you jump like with a pin in your a$$ everytime someone even mentions Iraq or 9/11. Maybe because that was the day when your own image of West as being a moral standard towards the whole world was shattered in dust and ashes. You have learnt that western governments are exactly as a bunch of greedy criminal a$$holes as Indonesian or Myanmarese military junta with the only exception – they wear Gucci suits instead of BDU – that is what disturbs you and that is why you are absolutely unable to lead a serious, objective conversation about anything that even touches these topics..
And your own red herrings in style b.b.b.but Russians, b.b.but Putin, b.b.but Bin Laden, b.b.b.but Al-Qaeda, b.b.b.immigrants, b.b.but terrorists are every bit as good as the ones of Iraq/Bush/9-11 crown, don’t you ever think you are something better
Hmmm!!! It serves Buddy James right.
Quote:
Given that the fighters in question haven’t caused a collision, one could assume that they are operating within safe and more importantly legal limits.
Yeah, and “I” have never had a car crash so “I” must obey the speed limits… Hah! Interesting set of logic you have there… I guess a bank robber that hasn’t been caught yet is not a criminal?
Conjectures, logic and counter logic, Oh Mr. GaryB, Mr. GaryB swing the logic
stone at them.
Sintra quoted:
A “cold war” with NATO backed by a defense budget that his 1/3 smaller than the British one?!
Going back to pre-1991?!
Now i´ve seen it all…
How old are you?!
No time for Coldwar, it is enough.
You don’t waste financial resources to prepare for that again.
Enough nukes are around on both sides to do the job.
Hot war right away. If NATO fools around the answer is
total almageddon, mutual destruction, there won’t be any
Europe,America, and Russia to disturb one another in the
aftermath. But you are going to deal with a country bigger than Europe and
U.S combine. Both countries got the threshold number of nukes for the job.
Russia would finish his first, because she has a smaller landmass to deal with.
INK quoted:
To me, it seems like the Georgians sent this thing into Abkhazian airspace hoping for a win-win situation. Either it collects some valuable data about enemy forces or it gets shot down and they can score a few points on the international stage.
Precisely so, and even think NATO , led by the U.S can come to their rescue. Big mistake by Georgia. NATO would leave them in the cold when the going gets tough with Russia.
This is what the Russian general further had to say
is good that our crews have good self-control and discipline,” he added.
”They turn on monitoring equipment and record the violations. So if there is any dispute we will always be able to prove that we were right and acted properly,” he claimed.
”Especially as there exist certain agreements in the framework of international conventions that must be strictly fulfilled,” he informed.
Russia has bilateral agreements on the prevention of air accidents with almost all leading nations he said, pointing out ”They define clear distances and intervals between aircraft.” Gen Zelin said Russian strategic aviation continues patrolling the air above the oceans which was resumed last August. Russian bombers make regular flights over the Arctic, Pacific and Atlantic oceans in addition to the Black and Mediterranean seas, he added.
Aren’t rules of engagement or practice governing these activities in international waters?
For instance the distance or proximity of opponent’s fighters to the other’s.
As Mathias Rust exposed overestimated Soviet power long ago on her own home turf. And Russia is much weaker than the old USSR
And How many Russians died on Red Square.? Don’t get me wrong I don’t support the death of innocent human beings, but rather shrugged at absolute and empty American complacency. Have the Americans ever dare to probe the weakness of Russia?, but I think you might suggest the Chechians did, and how brave they were.
to be honest buddy i think your over estimating Russias power at the moment
I think Al-Qaeda has exposed overestimated American power, long ago on her own home turf.
If he is alive then let mighty Ámerica bring him out, she can’t, America has been trying for some years now.Do you think Bin Laden would bring himself out and say “come get me”.? The ONUS is on America to prove to the world that he is alive or dead, simple a logic as that and none of the 2 conditions is still proven.
And even if America should presume Bin Laden is dead, then he died of natural causes from perhaps his kidney problems, and that wouldn’t be to the satisfaction to the U.S.
Jon James quoted:
Lol dude, you think Binny is still alive?
Yes he is alive, what then? , Do you think he is a jail in America?
Even Senator McCain knows he is alive, and his first priority is to go get him even to as far as the gates of Hell, but that is hardcore vaunting, typical of such people.
Either you bring him alive or dead, and none is done,he is elusive as ever.
But does that matter considering the Soviet Union would sease to exist as an entity?
People are forgetting that Russia is almost twice as big as America ,Russia= 2 X America and population is dispersed, and empty . So in a total nuclear exchange America gets quenched earlier. Each side has the required number of missiles to th job and even this is in excess.
Ok Mr. Soc,you are one of the multitude who thinks he is imperfect, very honest then. I am not basing my proposition on prejudice but on mere practical experience. I shouldn’t have used the word, ” all Americans”, because that in itself is a gross generalization, apology for that.
Soc quoted:
I’m an American, and I just told you that technology isn’t the whole picture
I don’t buy it from you personally, what then? . On this forum what do we all
whine about when it comes to something Russian and American?
Is it politics, culture, economics, history or what ? Of course every American think they excel in all this areas including technology ,above everyone else, examine your subconscious mind.
Ron James quoted:
No whats kept the peace for 60 or so years is MAD not Russias superior abilitys at anything.
I didn’t state Russia’s superior ability, I didn’t use any superlative, but rather Russia’s humble technological ability on the par.
Of course weapon systems that MAD would bring to bear are not made from Bow and Arrow. This underscores my point.
How does one acquires a MAD pre-emption? Through “technological equilibra” of both countries, Russia and America.
Aghanistan, Iraq, Yugoslavia, Vietnam didn’t have MAD and you saw what happened to them.If you had MAD , you are counted .
Jon James quoted:
Your first paragraph is laughable, Russia are trying there best to match Amercian technology every day
Russia has already a match to American technology squarely.
That is the one and sole reason why America have not, and dare not,and would not, and cannot confront Russia militarilly, for almost over 60 years.
Do you reckon the logic? If Russia is overly inferior in her technological capabilities, Amerca would have invaded or attacked Russia long ago because that could offer a path of least resistance.
Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, Yugoslavia are all cases in point.
