The common reason I heard about “Schräge Musik” was the saxophone is always held at a slanted angle

The website is the RAF’s own one, nothing to do with the RAF Museum
Yes, my bad (fix title)
Still, anyone know where it go?
Thanks guys, I have a few areas where there was white powdery residue in places or pitting .. there are also blisters in the paint when the tops are removed, its the same thing.. almost like calcium powder?? I used a soft brush in a dremel on low speed to remove the powdered deposits to get back to metal again before giving it a good rinse and then coating of wd40 and light oil…. I am not sure now wether to completely remove the paint and take care of the corrrosion on it before repainting???
“white powdery” is the aluminum corroding, entropy to natural Al-Oxide state.
A little corrosion is not bad at all, since it is actually a barrier to further corrosion, the down side is it could also hold moisture.
You don’t need to be aggressive with cleaning, just get the loose stuff off.
With paint bubbles you must open all the bubbles so no trapped moisture.
Sounds like good product.
Suggest: Soft toothbrush to get the light corrosion and dirt off, alcohol to clean any grease.
Q-tip / swab to get the preservative in nooks.
NO 😡
Power can be expressed in angular units asPower = torque x angular velocity
or in linear units as
Power= force x velocity
It is meaningless to say that one thing uses power and another uses torque because they are different physical quantities.:)
Then explain why for autos Torque is a better measure of acceleration / speed than HP?
Diesel is preferred for trucks because of high torque.
And I realize there is ways to convert the values.
Congratulations to them!!
Pity about nose over, but considering the achievement a small price!
thanks!
WOW!!
Hope no one sneezes!!!
This is engines that power light aircraft

Not sure if noted, and crude description:
Horsepower is a LINEAR measurement, not an ideal measurement for most machines because they use…
TORQUE for movement, translated into linear movement by wheels or cogs to a rack.
Jets (rockets, and other Reaction engines) do not create movement by contact or aerodynamic means, but by Newtons action/reaction, or Force.
Now a Turbo Shaft engine that powers a propeller, that can be measured as Torque (and by extensions HP).
So, when it comes to Jets, its FORCE.

It’s understandable that the locals want to keep their landmark but they can’t, the sea will have it.
This is like a glass with a hole in the bottom, the beer is trickling slowly out and being lost but picking it up will greatly increase the loss rate, drink it and it’s gone. So everyone watches the beer dribble away and finally no one will have anything. We can’t have it it must be left there so future generations can’t have it either.
Agree.
Move it on shore and clean and preserved, or let nature take it back.
Or encase in giant snow globe.
no other option.
Pilot did an excellent landing.
If you look VERY carefully a ring came off wheel before the “tyre” followed suite. I guess it was some retaining ring.
My guess pilot tried to set down as gently as possible (and he did, feather touch), but when the load settled on flat it collapsed and caused huge drag that tipped nose over. Pilot was spot on to keep her on the centerline, excellent control!
Prop strike requires engine tare-down in US (FAA and Insurance), but I think engine is 100% OK, the propeller hub will need careful inspection to be safe, though.
Saw the Girl in Cosford 2014.
To think that 2 iconic but lesser known twin tailed bombers of the era (Do-17 too of course) where less inches from each other.
Took some snaps.
Great to see progress in restoration of something that was really chewed up quite badly.
Close to my relatives house, almost visited last year.
See the wingless Bf-209 record breaking racer??
I don’t know if a Venom could take part – from memory there are guidelines prohibiting any wing sweep over X-degrees? Hence the field full of L-29s and -39s, and the occasional Vampire.
Look at my posting (#8) above.
Oh, wow!
So wish UK was a bit closer!
