Duxford’s runway was once 300 yards longer if I remember correctly.

The Vulcan, B52, B-29 and all the passenger aircraft landed and then the M11 was built which chopped the end off. I’m sure the M11 could have been routed differently or a tunnel put in. 🙁

Let’s hope when the time comes when XH558 stops flying it goes somewhere other than Duxford, it would be a shame to see B.2A XJ824 broken up.

For the weekend – A nice low pass to dry the runway off please, followed by a climb out.

    Yeah, a Gloster Gladiator.

Sywell’s website is showing the Reds now – cheek! Getting our hopes up for another Vulcan display.

The Sywell Airshow website is showing a silhouette of a well known aircraft.

Click airshow, click Displays, then click Surprise Act. :diablo:

I wish the TVOC would update their website more frequently, things are getting interesting and it’s hard to find out what is going on.

So far it’s Dunsfold and maybe Sywell – hopefully?

Ah the Spitfires! There must be more footage with the BBC – let’s see some more please.
    Great air-to air footage.

If anyone knows about bookings for the Sea Vixen would they post them? I would like to see her in Royal Navy colours and I’m sure the owners are too busy to update their website. All the best to those involved with her upkeep.

Stuck trying to get out I heard the sound of a couple of Hunters and saw the group taking-off in formation. Shame they could not display and shame the video camera was in the bag. Anyone have any shots?

    Slightly OT.

Are there any more original models of Swallow around?
I know of the one at Elvington and the one shown in this thread is, I presume, in Hendon?

I ask this as there will soon be a resin model.

Great videos indeed, fark I hate those farken commentators. Just dribble.
Said it elsewhere, they should have PA-free areas for those who know what they’re looking at and don’t want the dribble:rolleyes:

Where we were the PA packed up. 😀 I bet somebody pulled the plug.:diablo:

As the video camera was in use no PA was a boon.:)

Is this what can be seen from the infamous “Tank Bank”?

What is happening in the rest of Europe regarding DC-3s and passengers flights? Is it just the CAA in the UK pulling the plug? The passengers from the European DC-3s, at Duxford on Sunday, didn’t seem to know what I was on about.

My Norf Lunden accent isn’t that bad honest guv. Well does the ban apply to them?

Superb display……if pressed for a highlight i’d say the B-17’s and the P-51’s……a fine tribute to the Eighth Air Force.

Oh, and get well soon ‘Miss Helen’:(

Very true, I was in line of sight of “Miss Helen”‘s touchdown spot but missed what happened. I better not start anything here though?

If this cancellation is down to elfn’ safety …Grrr! 😡

Good idea if the airshow could be rescheduled but I expect Fairford might be wanted for something else soon.

Is the Vulcan still at Waddo?

In Top Gear language – C**K – I’ve just finished packing.
What’s the weather like for Duxford on Sunday?
